This is terrific! What a find whilst 'shielding', I so enjoyed it. My late Mum was brought up close by (she was sent to buy sweets in the High Street the day War was declared, as the adults were putting brown tape across the windows) and she often went back to Carshalton in her later years, (on the bus from Croydon where she lived her married life). She loved the Wandle and history of the area and probably is where her heart was. She sometimes took my young daughter in school holidays while I was working. I visited The Grange a few times with my Mum (a photo of mine taken there hangs in my sitting room) and also the Carshalton Carnival concert in the park, a hot night in 1976. Your well presented feature has brought back a whole set of fond memories and has inspired me to visit and explore the area once lockdown eases and it is allowed!! Thank you.
Thank you, so glad that the video brought back so m,any memories. You can find more Vlogs from Carshalton on my main RUclips Channel if interested.... ruclips.net/user/MarqEnglish
