- Gumby eats cookies but then he found out that pokey will let him eat his sandwich so, eventually pokey turns into mr. stuff and stuffs gumby from gaining weight and getting fat from eating, what a nightmare!

My sister (Jillian) saw it first in the 80s before I came along. I watched it in the 90s. Right now......it's not on tv anymore since time passed. I watched "Gumby: The Movie" when I was little. It was pretty good.
Carson Rensch I watched it in the early 2000's when I was in, I think, kindergarten (I'm 17 now). I've only seen snipits of "Gumby: The Movie," but never actually seen the whole thing.

No, he was clearing his throat to get Gumby's attention. He was mad because Gumby was eating his sandwich.
It's the Gumby version of the 1937 Warner Bros. cartoon "Pigs is Pigs!" This is another sign on how Art Clokey wasn't involved much with the late 1960s Gumby episodes, with characters acting really out-of-character at times (like here, with Gumby suddenly being obsessed with eating.)
Art Clokey pretty much was in Asia and studying Eastern Asian religions. Art Clokey pretty much wasn't in the later episodes of "Davey & Goliath", another claymation show he also created. It's ironic that the creator of a Christian children's show happened to be a Zen Buddhist. No surprise that Art Clokey prefers Gumby over Davey & Goliath any day.
I loved this show when I was little
I wish I'd seen it when I was a young kid, myself. I've seen some episodes at an older age and enjoyed them.
It's just too bad we don't see much like this now; nowadays, we mostly get stuff like the Teen Titans acting like goofballs, ducks shaking their butts at the camera, butts bouncing around, and other gross jokes! XP

Expect in the end, Gumby decided to skips dinner after that horrible nightmare he had after mooching off. While in "Pigs Is Pigs", Piggy completely forgot his horrible nightmare and have breakfast in the end. This version have more of a moral in the end.

Unlike in the Warner Bros. cartoon, "Pigs Is Pigs", the character, Piggy who is pretty much of a negative stereotype of a pig of being a greedy and selfish glutton still eats after his nightmare.

in '68 I was 5 yrs old and it was strange , you didn't want it to be because pokey was neat and gumby was all right but even at 5 the imaginary things they would go in to were nothing like what our imaginations would have done . I never stuck it out through each story , definitely creepy . Johnny quest was the shit you just knew hadgi was gonna have to save their ass and you trusted in that " sim sim sala bim" or " bandit! get back in the boat before you get eaten " or whatever . and his scared little ass would come hauling ass around the corner until he had enough people around him to act like badass . makes me laugh even now . and johnnys dad was always a little to busy , just like your own dad was but you made the best of it and cherished the precious few minutes you did get to be part of a whole . being near your dad and just loving him .
