I'm a big time uconn women basketball fan but I have to say I Loooove this Stanford team!! When I saw the familiar faces take the court I realized this was the team whose players I so much enjoyed watching last year. These young women have so much class it was a joy to see them again. This Stanford team is made of amazingly talented warriors who all have bright futures ahead. Congratulations to their great season!! Good Luck Seniors to your future endeavors and to the Stanford team next year!

As a UCONN fan, I love Haley Jones! She plays UCONN ball. Haley and Cameron literally kept their team in the game. I really thought we might get blown out with the Stanford offense. Our UCONN women are playing their best defense right now. How we won the game shooting only 36% is crazy, but we held Stanford to 34%! Stanford Women’s basketball is a class act. Good luck next year ladies. 🙏🏽

I’m a UConn fan, but I have huge respect for Tara and Stanford. You are traditionally UConn’s Achilles heel. Bless you! The poise you showed at this press conference is formidable. I look forward to many great battles between Stanford and UConn in the future. You will surely win your share.

This was the first Stanford game I watched this year. This Haley Jones kid is amazing! She seems to be able to generate her own shots almost at will. The moves she has are so refined and smooth. She will be a star at the next level. Great game by both teams that could have gone either way.
Two great, hard working teams, two amazing programs, and two legendary coaches. How much fun was that??!!

Uconn played the same way. Lot of turnovers on both sides along with poor shots. Uconn played better in the final 2 minutes making Stanford foul to get ball back. Free throws won the game.

A huge UConn fan. I didnt like the way the announcers seem to act like Stanford were the underdogs and keeping it close. Believe they won like 30 games in a row. UConn lost their best big player off the bench. Yeah UConn has the history but on paper seemed like Stanford had the edge.

You wait until the very end of your opening statement to finally give an ever-so-slight nod to your opponent. Say what you will but it certainly speaks to the disdain you have for UCONN, their coach, their program.

I’m a UConn alum and fan too. I didn’t expect to her great praise of UConn. We didn’t play a great game by any stretch. I’m amazed we won given turnovers. But it was a team win by UConn. Defense, rebounding was huge. Clutch free throws. Stanford did not play well and part of that was us but sometimes a team doesn’t have a great night. It’s happened to UConn and in the Semis too. It’s part of the game. Any given night, the other team could win.

    • @davidhersh3805

@@mikehansen4666 Fair indeed but it almost every case the first words out of every losing coach is a head nod to the opponent and then you spend the next 98% of your opening statement on how proud you are of your team.

      @@davidhersh3805 Wow dude.
      Sensitive, picky picky.
Take it easy.... She respected the other team - not too much but it also wasn't "disdain" as she's being accused of.
I was rooting for Uconn and you / we should all feel grateful they even made it this far .. Let's see how Sunday goes - I think they will have to play much more disciplined, less turnovers, less fouls (and not as many silly fouls ) especially by the bigs.
Hopefully Caroline can start learning how to defend the post - that would help this team a lot in the future. Caroline reminds me of what Larry Bird was - not really close but there s some of that in her: Larry could defend even centers when he had too. And Larry wasn't that athletic. Caroline can get stronger and use her abilities - including in the post against bigs. Of Course Aliyah Edwards is better at that but help defense is important down there against Aliyah Boston etc.
.... It's too bad NiKa isn't like 6 ft 3. She is so tenacious - I think Uconn could win comfortably if they had someone else other than Aliyah and Liv playing the post with such high level defense and energy/ aggression (but smart) like Nika Muhl.
Caroline is 6 ft 2 or so - she can help a lot... she's a good defender and learning to play the post more - but it's probably too soon to ask her to do that in the national title game.
Better hope Liv and Aliyah stay out of foul trouble and use help defense (from people like Nika who is such a beast even in the post).
