The great Jim James. Been absorbing anything he touches for almost 20 years.
This song hit me right in the damn gut last night. I replayed it about 30 times before I went to bed. It was deeply ingrained in my subconscious at that point, and this morning I woke up and ordered The Waterfall II on vinyl because I just needed this masterpiece. This song is incredibly powerful. It invokes so many emotions that sometimes I struggle to come to grips with a singular one while listening. It’s a beautiful conglomeration of joy, sadness, grief, longing, and hope. Just lovely song writing.

This song takes me back to my early twenties, hot summer California nights chillin in the backyard by the pool slamming beers with friends and having no worries at all. The next day we would do it all over again.

The first time I heard this I thought it was a remastered song from the late 1970's. It has a strong Ambrosia vibe to it. I may be wrong, but I knew this tune as soon as I heard it.
Ambrosia (and Bread) instantly came to mind for me as well. This song definitely has a late 70’s soft-rock/blue-eyed soul thing going on.
The vocals are killer and stand out so much on this song.
Yeah, people keep saying Pink Floyd, but I get more of an Ambrosia vibe from it, as well.
