I did a Hands-On Marathon two years in a row. The first time I lasted about 24 hours and the second time I lasted almost 3 days. We were down to three people from I would say 15 to 20 people to start with. There were so many people in the contest that we had to have two cars to put our hands on and one of them was the car you would win. The second time around I found out if I could have lasted two more hours I would have made it to Second Place. We also got to take a 10-minute break every hour and sit down. We could also use that break to go to the bathroom. And three times a day we got 15 minutes for breakfast lunch and dinner. Man I came so close on that second time around doing it. We were also allowed to switch hands every so often as long as a judge watch us do it and one hand stayed on the car at all times. We were not offered incentives to leave the competition and they did not drive the car and have us walk next to it. Our contest both times was sponsored by a radio station. It was a lot of fun. I only wish I could have at least made it to second place that second time around because the prize was a hot tub.
