It’s cool to get another turtle beyblade, very similar to the plastic gen, but again for the defense, extremely underwhelming. I honestly have no idea how TT will make defenses actually matter again when they keep making every defense lighter than a feather lol
Maybe I'm too used to Metal Fight, but it's so hard/strange they've mostly been giving Defense types needle bits instead of ball bits. Black Shell is basically the first to get a somewhat ball bit but like Brendan said, without the blade overhanging (yeah thanks BBG, nonstop pauses today 😅) to protect the rachet or to have better smash attack/counter and the weight, it's hard to say if it's S tier, even A. Possibly going to a 3- rachet and maybe 70 height could possibly perform better or maybe the yellow black Shell has the better combo, could test the performance between the bits
i doubt they ever will since its pretty clear to see that this generation was designed to make attack types the best. i mean the dash gimmick is clearly built specifically for attack types, so i think part of the attack type "buff" going into this gen is to make sure the type thats supposed to beat them doesnt pose a threat anymore

I noticed that black shell managed to knock out the oponent, When it was tilted to the side. I think that blackshells protusions are realy good at knocking the Opponent up, when its protusions are rotating upwards and hitting the enemys blade from Below

I'll say this. For the novelty, sure. It's Draciel, and part of the Four Sacred Beasts. But for competitive use? The worst part is its shape has serious potential if paired with the right parts, but that light weight (or really lack of weight) holds it back so much. It may as well have just been the X-Over Project Draciel S remake, since its weight is down there with the other First Gen remakes.
The probable reason why Dot doesn’t work as intended is you actually have less surface area even with the added mini balls. You are better off with having a ball regular ball tip if you want friction, or have the mini balls surround the bottom tip in a sort of circle, though that kinda makes it designed to scrape… which I argue is what the intention was anyway
D definitely seems like a smaller O shape or GN tip with more friction. Definitely should try wearing down the dots with use to make the plastic softer. Honestly, this is probably the best defense bit we've got so far (if you dont count H).

I tested it in a unofficial tourney yesterday.Actually decent attacker that let me being 4th place while also xtremed other's phoenixes twice.Sadly i have to retire my WizzardArrow with BlackShell replacing it's place. My combo was 4-60 U
I’m surprised by its performance in your tests, the other tests I’ve seen seem to show it bursting attack beys pretty regularly. Even consistently taking down Cobalt Dragoon.
for sure not the best one for play, but o so desirable as a collector, managed to pull the first 3 out of 3 boosters so happy to have made the purchase.

I just had a realization. If you bring a scale to the market and weigh the random boosters you might get a vague idea of what is inside. The heaviest box would contain Wing then Rod, Viper, Unicorn and Black Shell. Is this possible?

Honestly not sure what the point of having Attack, Defense, Balance and Stamina types is. They should’ve combined Stamina and Defense so they have the weight and defense gimmicks Defense types need.
There is a huge misconception about Defense types in X. Not saying they're great, stock. But really though Defense blades are intended to explode on impact. You have to aim them otherwise you get spin finished by Flat style Bits consistently. Defense Bits are meant to hold their position when leaning and offer good LAD. All of the decent defense types in X are extremely easy to aim and control. They're just punching bags though, until you start adding Attack or Stamina bits to them, allowing you to play with less precision. Black Shell is straight up worse than Rhino Horn to me, the blade just kills its own stamina on contact. Even when Attacking, this blade doesn't have any upper or lower edges to make an impact. It's head on like a blunt object. Very little control over where they will be sent flying, they're pretty much guaranteed to be sent flying though... so weird. I see this BlackShell blade being one of the worse releases yet. This random booster however reprinted so many amazing parts and gave us the Dot Bit; such amazing grabs for us who play customs. The Green 1-60R for example is very fun to use on BlackShell because it can double barrage combo for easy Knockouts consistently with its very poor blade design. Also looks beautiful. The blue PhoenixWing to me is a must-have, and I'll go through these until I get it. All that said, as someone who uses RhinoHorn 4-60GF in my deck right now, I would not touch Blackshell unless I lost a bet. lol. I'd sooner take one of the Shinobi beys. Really cool that this first BlackShell is bad though... just like LeonClaw being bad... I predict the variants we get one day are going to be powerful.

Back in metal fight you could customize your bey with 5 different interchangable pieces but now its only like 3. Wouldn't everyone just use the same combo? I really miss the metal fight system.

I actually tested Phoenix Wing 5-80 Hexa pre-black shell’s release, and it’s a BEAST.
Note: it was just the combo, not the same colour scheme as in the booster.
