@@Adrian202, it really isn't a big deal, even though it perhaps might sound so. The biggest hurdle is to identify the capacitor model and manufacturer. Some capacitors might come with no identifying data, but the higher quality ones usually provide at least the bare minimum to make it out. If identified successfully, looking up the capacitor series datasheet on Google should reveal the ESR value, unless the manufacturer decides not to provide ESR and tan δ values at all or provides for a frequency different from the one at which the tester measures.

Hello,thank you for sharing, I bought the t7 but I think it was defective in the knn area so I returned it ,I like the t4 but I think it does not have the case plus I have to change batteries,is it possible to connect a rechargeable lithium battery.
Device use 9v battery, Lithium will have 8.4v so that could be too low, There are 9v Lithium batteries in shape that this one have, but opinions are not the best (when I last check it) You need to check input voltage range but still device don't have low power cut off that mean it will destroy battery by over discharge
There are numbers next to socket. There is 1 2 3 and anything else is 1. You connect to any different numbers like 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 and device will detect what is where conencted :)
It's not a professional device, so readings can be bit off. Also, capacitors have (I think) 10% accuracy. You can always compare that to multimeter with capacitor function, but We don't know if that one is accurate.
Not many times I use it because I mostly use multimeter. But when I work on soldering practice kits I use it, and it's much faster to identify all resistors :) Still more professional multimeter will be much better and I don't think it will show same values, but this device is more to identify than show precise values :)
Is that normal that from some time to time especially when turned on witch cap installed it shows ESR = 0 Ohm and test need to be repeated few times before it show ESR readings, or mine is damaged ?
@@Adrian202 it sometimes don't measure ESR even when i turn it off without component. Did you ever experienced that kind of behavior that ESR was 0 and start showing right after some time ?
@@Adrian202 No problem is not the range, guitar pickups have inductance about 2 to 7 maximum 8 Henry. Probably this device cannot test inductance guitar pickups because it doesn't have low frequency generator.
So to assembly just watch My video or pictures of this device :) As for use there are 3 pins and You can see mark over testing port. top row start with pins 1 2 and 3 and all other pins also all pins on bottom row are 1 so depending on what You test You can connect it to any of 1 2 and 3 pin and device will detect what it is. I described this in subtitles, sorry I just don't like to talk on movies :)

My issue is with the acrylic case's poor design. Main issue is that to change/replace the 9V battery you have to remove the whole top cover. I'm planning on cutting the bottom cover somewhere between the bottom and 1/3rd way up so I just open 2 screws to replace the battery.
Прибор подделка, померяй конденсатор с материнской платы, он у тебя покажет еср 0.00 ома, а должен показать 0.01 ома, и будет показывать 0.00 до 0.07 примерно, до этого значения он не способен видеть сотые ома, при этом конденсаторы в материнской плате при 0.1 ома считаются плохими, а он тебе может показать при 0.1 ома только 0.03 ома )))). Качественный прибор т4 который меряет 0.01 ома имеет голограммы и логотипы на обратной стороне платы и не имеет 2 точки возле кнопки теста, а этот подлелка из некачественных деталей имеющие большую погрешность, по этому он не может точно измерять в сотых потому что сам с чего попало собран, хитрыми китайцами, которые начали собирать эти приборы с плохих запчастей имеющих большое отклонение от номинала схемы

Mine wont read capacitors with reverse polarity the positive lead has to go in pin 1 and neg on pin 3.
Polarity should work in both direction, You just need to have one leg in 1 and other in 2 or 3 I think.

Can I test components in circuit if I connect leads to it ?
You should not do that, if You have many connected capacitors it will show combined capacity.

Device could do calibration on start, so turning on with component could change parameters

Working batteries don't get recognized from this device but a dead one shows up as a diode.
I don't think it is design to test batteries, they design it to test capacitors, but that's not the same
I like this but it cannot read guitar pickup inductance, he sees it like pure resistance.

I found that both the top and bottom rows are the same-1231111.

Some of the acrylic cases have a part-ready-cut area of the base to accept a battery-holder, such as eBay item number: 293762628414
It's $2 case, you can cut open a hole and put some plastic battery holder easy.
