Was so happy to find you in my feed to know that there are other Jamaicans out there who are passionate about fostering (not just adoption). I have been active Foster Carer in Jamaica for the past 6 months and can relate to much of what you have said. The journey is challenging but I truly depend on God each day to see me through as this is a calling which I (eventually) humbly answered. I have been blessed to have a 2.9yrs boy from the onset and 3.5 months in I was asked to take his baby sister who is now 5 months old. They are both so different, a hurricane and a silent river but all in all they bring so much joy. I know some time has passed since you got your first baby boy, have you had another child since? I would really love to connect. Much love from a single Foster mom 🥰
Thanks so much for reaching out. We are truly blessed to be called to fostering and we're happy to connect with others in the space. Re our first baby boy, he was reunited with his birth family roughly 4 months after he came to us. It was heartbreaking so we took some time to heal. We received a longer term placement in Dec 2021 - a vibrant 1-year old baby boy. He's been a blessing and a joy. We're still adjusting to the realities of parenting such an active little one! @@LovingtotheMacks I am sooo so pleased for you both and your new addition to the family CONGRATULATIONS !!!. I can see from a couple of your videos that your heart is in the right place about being Parents/Carers. Continue to be faithful and I pray and hope that in addition to fostering, adopting, you will also bear fruits of the womb as I can see it’s still a desire. Never forget your calling is greater than you and hence designed to impact, not just the children you look after but for persons like me who connect with you as well as those you will inspire to move into this area. Loving and nurturing another human being is one of the greatest jobs God offers. Much love and blessings + I will inbox you 😇
