A place I’d been before but with pretty poor filming conditions so a pleasure to be back. Around 7-8km depending on how much you walk around but do stick to the route as it’s the route for a good reason and keeps everyone safe. A big thanks to Ellie Harrison and the Countryfile team there who really took the time to understand why I do these films. Much appreciated and I’m really glad the team understood what I’m trying to do. Please enjoy and if you can, visit this amazing place. A somewhat eventful day for me and my little walking film channel! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE TIDE TIMES AS YOU COULD PUT OTHERS AT RISK. Please. For more random meetings with BBC wildlife presenters try this when I bumped into Iolo Williams!

The Dee sure is a sizable estuary. There's a lot going on there both human and natural - well we are nature. Loving them seals though - a real surprise as was Ellie. Good walk Paul. All the best. Mark

Wye Explorer Thank you! If you get the chance to come here it’s amazing. Plus you can spend 6 hours on middle and Hilbre islands whilst the tide is in and the seals come right in close!! All the best Paul

As far as I know there is no camping allowed. I have seen a video of someone on middle eye wild camping though even though obviously not meant too! Just to stay for the duration of the tide been in would be spectacular though 100%!

@@pauljones401 agreed- it’s wonderful . We used to walk out there every summer. The Island gets its name from St Hildeburg - same as the church in Hoylake.
