👴 Old Composer Reactions 🤘
"No Reply" is such a great song, it's one of my faves from CB's ost. The combo Yoko Kanno + Steve Conte on the vocals is out of this world, they collabed in many projects and I highly recommend other songs from them! "Heaven is Not Enough" (from "Wolf's Rain"), "The Garden of Everything" (from RahXephon, and also features Maaya Sakamoto on the vocals), "Living Inside the Shell" (Ghost in the Shell: SAC), "Call Me Call Me" (Cowboy Bebop) and "Stray" (also from Wolf's Rain) are all a MUST LISTEN for sure!
Def a track that could have been a proper radio hit in the right timeline. Should have been.
I always like to listen to Call Me and then this song. Feels like they go together well.

Honestly, I like modern anime sound track, but the ones that stick with me more are rfom the 1990s and 2000s like "Wolf's Rain" (entire sound track is great), "Noir" with Salva nos and Canta per me, there's "Cowboy Bebop" and "Ghost in the Shell"
The string intro sounds 100% like something Hybrid would have cooked up.

Not gonna lie Cowboy Bebop music is simply legendary.
I see absolutely no reason the whole ost is not in every single music reaction channel.
Soulful music was never this good.
Future Blues is as essential to Anime, as Dark Side of the Moon is to classic rock.
You should react to another Cowboy Bebop track called "Blue" sing by Mai Yamane and composed by Yoko Kanno too. It really give you goosebumps in the right way.
Kanno's theme song for Wolf's Rain, "Stray", has almost this exact same sound profile, but a little faster and more driving. It's such a cool sound.
There are so many great songs produced from that composer for this anime. Beautiful 90s music. Songs you’d expect to be popular back then. Just another reason why bebop is such a classic.
That "weird percussive thing" sounds like a breakbeat sample, though I suspect that it was played live rather than sampled. If it is a sample, I can't identify it (not that I'm great with that sort of thing, but I can often recognize some of the most popular ones).

“Time to Know Be Waltz” on this album is Yoko Kanno’s finest track across her entire discography (in my opinion), would strongly recommend considering that for a reaction.
