Sadie, congratulations to an absolutely smashing Tour De Fleece 2024! You really went for it and the yarns you created are gorgeous. I’m certainly participating next year as well, because it was enormous fun. For a bit I was worried for you, you were pushing yourself so much… but sweetheart, you absolutely ran with it and I really enjoyed your sharing of your progress. When you showed the repaired bobbin I squealed, it made me so happy that you managed to fix it. Your plans sound great, I’m already looking forward to your future videos. As a beginner spinner with less than a year of spinning under my belt, anything you choose to share about your knowledge of spinning is more than welcome. This TDF earmarked my first ever try at chain plying. It wasn’t a goal, but thanks to the encouragement of the TDF Facebook group I’d joined and to a challenge I couldn’t resist… and did it. So proud of myself. Big hugs and ’till your next video!
Your yarn is so beautiful! And I love your plans! Please do carry through. Those basics videos will be such a blessing to us all. Especially love the purple number ten.
Sorry to hear your having a hell of a month. It's been a hell of a year! But you have to treat yourself now as a celebration to your efforts as 10 yarns in 18 days OMG 😮 WOWZERS 🎉🎉🎉
Well done, Sadie! I really enjoyed your Tour de Fleece and am inspired to join in next year. Also a relatively new spinner, I got my wheel about a year ago and that's when I discovered your channel, which I love. Looking forward to the back to basics videos if you do them. And to seeing that dyed Falkland being spun up! 💜
You’re an absolute joy ,,, lovely . Ever so pleased fer ya sticking through all your ups and downs and coming out smiling at the end hugs nd well dones ,, It’s the wrong race but here’s a bottle of sparkling stuff 🍾 . I’m a bit late but I was thinking of you xxxx.
You did so well and at 41 years old I also love my gray hair although I’ve had a grey patch since my mid 20s lol but it’s spread now all though the front and I just love it. I always say aging is a privilege not everyone gets so embrace and enjoy every wrinkle and grey hair 😊 all my love Sadie oh I wish I could show you my spinning on my spindle it’s getting so much better 😊
Well done you! You’ve inspired me to join next year. I just dyed up some lovely fibre -but forgot the citric acid! 😮Gutted as i love the colours! Love your yarns, you did really well xx
@@sadiesspincraft6319 Sadie I hope it’s ok to contact you here I have some Gotland cross fleece (sorry not sure what it’s crossed with) and I have washed it and it’s drying now. When I come to card it on a drum carder do I do it tips first or cut end first or just open the locks up and put it though in any angle ? Never done this before as I have purchased batts or rovings pre done. Have to try it sometime lol and I want to do it right even though it was a cheap fleece :-). Thanks Sadie
@suefisher5531 best way if you feel you want to do batts pick each lock open and it doesn't matter what way they go on the Drum as the drum is an every which way but loose kind of prep if you want a Worsted spin the you need to comb the fleece and have all locks facing the same direction. I hope this helps also flick your locks as that helps too xx
@@sadiesspincraft6319 thank you sooooo much Sadie. I’m looking forward to trying this and the spin as I really only spin Corriedale :-) Thanks again Sadie. Have a great week xox
I spun 1.5kg this tdf, I haven't counted the mileage yet. I have so many unprocessed fleece that I sent my Polworth and Alpaca off to a friends mill to be processed. It costs a bit but I think It's worth it for the finer fibres. I will deal with my Suffolk and others.
Sadie I've recently joined your channel . Please can I ask what do you do with the yarn you spin ie knit crochet? I just wondered . You have such enthusiasm its lovely hugs from me
