They probably didn’t recognize their mother, because there were most likely no portraits painted of her when she was a kid. But there were most likely portraits painted of their dad because he was the prince.

Finally somebody agrees Frozen 2 surpasses it's predecessor. The Next Right Thing is the most underrated Frozen song ever so powerful😭 deserves to be talked about more!

Also, it makes perfect sense that they recognize their dad before their mom. Their dad almost certainly had royal portraits throughout his life, so they know what he looked like at a young age. Their mom was Northuldra, and came to the kingdom later in life, so she probably did not have much, if any, photographic evidence of her when she was younger. The scarf was the clear connection.
The Samantha laughing scene wasn't scripted: that was Josh Gads genuine reaction.

To clear up the confusion:
Ahtohallan was using their mothers distress call to summon Elsa so she could find out the truth behind their ancestry.
While I prefer the original Frozen, I liked how they tried to create a deeper story for this one. Plus, the music has really grown on me and I listen to the songs somewhat regularly.
The start of the movie( with the young princesses) takes place the same night as the accident we see in the first movie. This has been confirmed by the director.
Did anyone else cried when Elsa discovered the truth about her powers and noticed that her mother was calling her, and Olaf flurrying away. Cause I did when I watched the movie in theaters with my classmates for a field trip.

Wow, 5 years since this movie was released. Time really does fly. I recall how surprised I was when I saw the direction this movie was going and how everything ties in with the first. It turns out that their parents set off to find the answers about Elsa’s cryogenic capability at a time when they thought she was cursed, only to later realized in the end, she was actually blessed with a gift that could change everything and it did. The songs for this one was on point with everything that was going on: it started with their mother’s lullaby about a place where such magic is beyond imagination, everyone thinking about the future, Elsa finding out the voice that was calling her, Olaf’s assurance about how the world works, Kristoff’s uncertainty about his relationship, Elsa finally discovers her place in all of this and it was her mother, Iduna, who was summoning her in spirit to reveal the secrets of the past and last but not least, Anna mourning for the loss of her sister and best friend; although tragic, it gave her the motivation that she desperately needed to finish what they started to atone the mistakes of their family. There are many things that we can take from this but for me, it’s this: Nothing is as it seems. I love how even though Elsa is the 5th elemental spirit, Anna also has a role to play; given how she was able to free the forest and it’s people by taking down the dam, the very cause of this dilemma. If Elsa and Anna are both sides of the bridge, then Agnarr and Iduna laid the foundations because just like how Elsa did in its predecessor, their love saved both people from annihilation due to ignorance and arrogance to dominate all. Keep it up, Sophie.

I love that Elza froze. she went on and on in the previous movie about how the cold doesn't bother her (anywayyyy🎶). I loved how when she got deep into the truth and everything she thought she know of herself is wrong, even that crumbled

The Next Right Thing, as someone who has been very depressed, is so raw and beautiful. Yes, the beginning is depressing, because Anna is grieving, but doing the next right thing is such an important message. Especially when you’re just stuck.
Edit: also, to be clear, Anna lost her sister, her best friend, and doesn’t know where her boyfriend is. She is stuck in a cave, and knows that if she ever gets out, she has to break the damn, destroying the only home she’s ever known, and the homes of almost everyone in their kingdom.
Elsa the Snow Queen has an extraordinary gift, the power to create ice and snow. But no matter how happy she is to be surrounded by the people of Arendelle, she finds herself strangely unsettled. After hearing a mysterious voice call out to her, she travels to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond her kingdom, an adventure that soon turns into a journey of self-discovery.
I also love this one. Elsa finds out that she's the Avatar, Anna becomes Queen, the old injustices begin to heal, and the spirits are in balance once more. Also, Into The Unknown... Fall. Fall is just like that.
Here's my Frozen 3 pitch:
Anna and Kristoff are finally getting married, and so is Honeymaren, to someone else in the tribe.
They decide to have the weddings together as a means of uniting the two cultures together, but it's as the wedding prep is going on that Elsa realizes she's in love with Honeymaren, and Ryder is in love with Kristoff.
They both decide they have nothing to lose, and decide they need to tell them how they feel.
Put whatever adventure you want here.
Time comes, and they chicken out, but only because they decides to first out themselves, as a means of testing the waters to see how they'd be accepted.
It goes dead quiet, and everyone's staring at them, and they both run off, thinking they just ruined everything for everyone.
Elsa talks to Anna, paralleled with Honeymaren talking to Ryder about their feelings, and insecurities, and both come to the same conclusion they need to talk to the person of their affections to clear the air.
Kristoff tells Ryder he's flattered, but he doesn't feel the same. Ryder is disappointed, but he understands, and ends up dancing at the wedding with someone who actually does like him, and that's where they leave him.
Elsa almost does the same thing, but after everything, can't bring herself to do it.
The tribe leader finds her instead, and tells her that they'd never reject her over something like that, so while Elsa may not have her feelings returned, she at least now knows she'd be accepted.
Now its the wedding day, but already, there's something wrong. Now it's only Anna and Kristoff getting married, and there's no sign of Honeymaren.
But determined to not ruin Anna's wedding day, they decide to have it as planned, though Elsa is still worried about ehat could've possibly happened.
Then she gets a surprise: Honeymaren shows up in a pretty dress and tells Elsa everything:
Apparently Elsa was not the only one who the tribe leader talked to the night before, and after a long talk with her husband to be, they both had to be honest and say neither of them were ready to get married, and had only almost gone through with it because they thought that's what the tribe expected them to do.
They called it off, went their separate ways, and here we are.
They kiss, and everyone cheers.
Flash forward however many years you want, and this time Honeymaren IS getting married, complete with a fakeout where Ryder is walking down the aisle with a woman, only, surprise: they're just guests, and it's Elsa and Honeymaren.
Didn't expect you to write Honeymaren and Ryder being gay. But on the other hand, the story sounds a more like a 28-Minute special
"Find your strength, face your fears."
I honestly prefer the story of Frozen 2 more than the 1st one but I prefer the soundtrack to the 1st one more overall though this one does have some amazing songs!
Yea so Frozen 2 is my favorite disney movie!!! Its just so beautiful and the story is so deep and emotional but also funny and just so great. Its not a movie for kids at all, its like for disney adults and they crushed it. Theres also a docu series ab the making of Frozen 2 on disney+ and it is AMAZING.
During Some Things Never Change, there's several instances of things changing, to further highlight the theme of the movie.
I think frozen 3 is coming you should watch it when it comes out.

30:37 I liked Elsa when, she’s the fifth spirit while, Anna is the new queen 👸🏻 of arendalle.
I mean their dad was king, and from a pretty young age too, there's probably a portrait of him at that age being coronated as king or something in the palace.

Is it just me or is it that in the first movie I was like "another disney princess movie" and I was annoyed because my youngest sister sings all the time with her friends, and I had questions about Elsa, but then the second one came out, and now I'm attracted to Elsa. Ain't that a crazy redemption thing to consider?
Not only that, but I also feel so sorry for her suffering that I just wanna hug her.

I honestly can’t decide which one is better
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Like not just Disney. This is a top ten movie for me.
Great tone and music (the soundtrack and film actually beat some records set by the OGs), but it was a shame that they never ironed out the story during production.

I saw this movie Twice in the Theaters In one day. In the snowy November morning with my dad(Rip) and My siblings and in the night with my mom and My paternal relatives along with my siblings. Cause my mom was sad she didn’t come with the first time. Me and my Twin were 10 when this movie came out and Frozen was a Disney Phenomenon when It first came out like for two years. 1:56 I think this was on the Same night Elsa injured Anna? 13:16 When I was Younger My dad asked me “How would you feel If I lived in a different house”. Idk If That was what he asked Specifically. But My kid brain Thought “No” and Said it. 14:16 Now That’s true. 17:56 Dipper.❤ Also Same. Like about people in general. Outside of my family. 18:29 I felt Like Love should have been the fifth spirit since ice is an extension of Water. 18:40 Truth.

This movie was okay but I wish they kept the original storyline. It was meant to be darker such as Elsa dying and Arandelle actually being destroyed. I hope elements of them in Once Upon a Time be put into the 3rd movie since it was before Kristoff & Anna got married

Controversial opinion - I didn’t really like this one. the charades scene at the beginning felt out of place like they could have done without it and Anna song was boring, and I could have also done without kristoffs song.
It felt kinda dumb the villain died before they were even born I was hoping he’d be secretly alive this whole time
But I did like the stuff with the tribe and the back story
I like Elsa in this movie to trying to find out more about their parents and explore her powers more
But I hate how insecure they made Anna just so they could have a funny plot with kristoff fumbling his engagement

Yeah the original storyline they had was better than what we got. Like this movie was meant to be darker so hopefully in 3/4 they can go down that path again

This is NOT better than the first. It's not even close to being as good as the first.
I loved the soundtrack but the movie is quite forgettable. I don't think it does anything interesting tbh. Not terrible, just... very easy to ignore.
I really wish Disney would use the music team beyond "Frozen." "Wish" could've used the help.

@@Alfonso88279 Seeing the documentary for how "Frozen 2" was made, I blame exec interference. The concept art and ideas looked great--plus "This Wish" was written before the script and Julia herself daid that when making songs, they didn't have but one syoryboard to go off of most of the time. (Plus I heard someone say she only had 3 weeks to write the songs and couldn't make adjustments after. IDK if that's true, but if it is, it explains a lot.)
