What I love in His Dark Materials is just how deep it can be. Marisa is not a good person. She did terrible things, made terrible, practically unforgivable decisions. But I can't actually hate her, because I can see that she truly loves her daughter, despite the darkness of her character. Amazing video.
She doesn't love her daughter, she wants to possess her. Herself denial has twisted and turned her love to poison. But Lyra is the deepest desire of her soul. She does however want to protect her. 😢
@@AnnaBellaChannel I think she loves Lyra the only way she knows how. This is the only kind of love she’s ever known. I’m not sure the love Asriel showed her was any healthier. She’s a bad person loving her daughter the only way she knows how but it doesn’t excuse how toxic and abusive that love is.

But Asriel has never love lyra, he even reject her any time he could, seriusly I really hate lyra for choosing him... I hope in the future lyra forgive her mother.
I know Asriel and Marisa both love Lyra,and I think she does love them too. But they won't ever stop what they're doing for anyone not even for her or else they wouldn't have hurt her friends, and she doesn't want them to be her parents anymore. She loves them, but she doesn't want them.
