Description
Lot #1397 - This 1968 Shelby GT500, #101, is a pre-production test vehicle equipped with a 428ci 8-cylinder Cobra Jet engine with Conelec fuel injection system. Only one other vehicle has this factory EFI system. Power is sent through a Ford C6 automatic transmission and special torque-sensitive, locking rear axle. This car has factory air conditioning and is presented in its original shade of Sunlit Gold over a black Shelby deluxe interior. Features include factory handmade fiberglass parts, pre-production console, one-of-a-kind rear axle mounting, special sound-deadener, pre-production taillights and 1969-style tires and shocks. This Shelby has undergone a fully documented concours restoration by a noted Shelby historian and includes ownership history and personal accounts of the car, as well as Ford and Conelec paperwork documenting its engineering history. One of only two functioning Conelec fuel-injection Shelbys and the only Conelec-equipped fastback in existence, this Shelby retains its original identification tags and was awarded the Concours Gold Award at Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.

Rally unique car and certainly some nice provinance.
S396K? All I can say is...WOW! Love the color & I never knew they made this one of one car. Rare indeed!
Not bad !!
That's incredible, never knew they had an early EFI prototype , Thanks Rich
I like the paint and the bonnet is 😎
Beautiful Shelby. Hm,Mechanical Fuel Inj.Weren' t the Early Corvettes & Ltd.# of Chevy Bel Airs.Mech.Fuel Inj.? It Took a Special Mechanic to Keep those Babies Tuned.Wonder if this is Reason this Shelby Never Made Reg.Production? People Fall for Ltd .Prod.Vehicles,W/ Out Knowing the Full Stories of Why they Never were Produced.Would think This Shelby would be less likely to Sell for Almost Twice the Cost of a Reg.Shelby.Guess the Customers of Today are more interested in Rarity, than Functiality.
Rich, Beautiful Mustang and I love the color. Thank you very much. You and your family have a blessed week.
Wow beautiful Shelby!!! Will you be at the Fabulous Ford’s event next month? I was at the 2019 one with my grandpa and didn’t get a chance to meet you!
I think I will be. If you see me there come up and say hello!
@@MustangConnection1 Will do!!
