was listening to the Running Man OST while gaming and someone reminded of Rollergator. Searched for it and found this and jfc, The Running Man dance intro was so close to life.
The Sudden Death Overtime was only used once, and I believe I read somewhere that the reason the two "gator skaters" were masked was because they were the gator handlers and/or professional stuntmen.
Twice, it happened in a "recap" of a match that never aired between the Rockers and Maniacs. (Recapped during a Wally George segment.) However, I am willing to bet money that they used the same "gator skaters" both times.
The NES game was delightfully insane. The Bad Teams were having their strings pulled by paramilitary mercenaries. And in turn the mercenaries were having their strings pulled by an alien overlord. Who you have to take down. In a skate-off.

The text crawl is the best part.
Program note: Sudden Death Overtime begins immediately following the gratuitous "Rollergator Dance." It could be devastating.
Can't stop singing this.
