- Dan Palmeter, Capture Team Lead at Boeing Phantom Works Advanced Weapons, discusses the Ramjet 155 at the Association of the United States Army’s 2021 conference and tradeshow in Washington, DC.
Revolutionary
If it goes faster than muzzle velocity? The kinetic energy is the warhead.... Just shooting from the hip thought.
Made in Norway!
Dan does a good job of explaining this next generation of advanced weapons defense coming from Boeing.
From norway. Namo

At this point is it really an artillery shell and not just a missile fired from an artillery piece
It's both
Missile is a word that applies to weapons dating back millennia. Artillery has always fired missiles but they haven't normally been guided.
When all the weight is allocated to rocket fuel it doesn't leave much for explosive payload.
When all the weight is allocated to fuel there is none allocated to payload.
It's not a rocket assisted projectile
Ramjet means the oxygen isn't held as weight in the projectile giving it more space for payload.
@yo yo hollow isn't extra weight, the point on discussion.
Kinetic energy
I wonder if this can be made air portable. Like be carried on a centerline a la Brahmos or ALCM.
No. The ramjet only helps boost launch velocity from gun launch.
a massive gyrojet basically only the heat from compressed air burns the propellant to boost the range. I would guess it is shaped like a mortar round with the propellant on the skinny back part and the Kaboom mix in that nosecone?
Not really a Gyrojet. it fires like a normal artillery shell, but activates the ramjet engine mid-air as the speed reaches mach 1. Gyrojets use solid rocket fuel (combustor and oxidizer mix) and boosts the projectile without assistance from gunpowder propellant.
How much it costs ?
yes

Nice seeing Boeing marketing both the Ramjet and the GLSDB missile for the Himars system. We can expect the GLSDB to arrive in Ukraine which will almost double the range of regular himars rockets from 70km to 140km.
Lol none of this bs is even mass production yet, such a joke
@@GeneralZap GLSDB is in mass production as of this year.
Boeing?
Isn't that Nammo ammunition?
It's a joint venture, companies do it every once in awhile to spread the burden out. Boeing is probably doing the avionics and guidance while Nammo is doing the rest
I hope to see it soon in Ukraine. We have a lot of targets to test on, you know.
Glad Boeing is telling the world about our weapons. The Chinese will never match our capabilities. Famous last words.
They already have a hypersonic missiles for killing our CVs, what makes you think they haven't already thought of this. They really wouldn't need it anyways as their battle doctrine is based in home waters and not projecting force abroad like us. Since the Indians already have the Bramos which this looks like this is based off of.
@@nuclearTANK lol, a military doctrine is a peace of paper. China is intent on world domination and that will require a change in military doctrine. It’s a matter of time before the doctrine changes to reflect military expansionism.
@@donsspecialty3961 that'll never happen we have them pretty much contained at this point, not to mention their population is on the drop they're just like Russian, a paper dragon. They're forces have no capability outside territorial waters. Cyber warfare is the only weapon
heavy testing in ukraine

great powerful Boeing's Ramjet 155...
come on american company must make many more better fasttery powerful Boeing's Ramjet 155...
Boeing's Ramjet 155 can easily hit / destroy any of all ussr russia arms weapons boom down
Seems like he could have taken the mask off for the interview. The mask makes it so difficult to understand him
No, his accent makes him hard to understand
The American accent isn't great for selling the "best". I'm so use to hyperbole in it, I'm sure it's great but I'm less sure because of the accent.
He has a terrible Southern accent.
ONLY MARKETING
But HIMARS are ineffective in RUSSIA
😇😇😇
If it was ineffective, then the Russians would have destroyed one by now.
And these shells are not for the HIMARS, they will be used in Howitzers.
Brahmos, little copy.
@Sampa Norein go and check!
