How to Buy a Boat for 2022 | Boating 101

This is a tough year for buying a boat. Between record growth in the sport, and limited supply, the normal ways we are used to buying boats are not working anymore. In this video I'll give you some tips and tricks around buying a boat for the summer of 2022.
We will talk about how to approach buying a new boat, and some strategies for finding and buying a used boat.

Very well said, boating is getting hit hard still with shortages. Currently employed at Malibu so I'm seeing all of this first hand. And demand is crazy, we can't build boats fast enough.

I ordered my boat exactly how I wanted in October 2020, it showed up in March of 2021. It worked out great but didn't get a smokin deal like you said.

Great video. I finally got my 2022 Tahoe 185S. I ordered it in Early June and it finally arrived early October. Yes if you want one for next summer you need to look at ordering one soon. Also any add on options like adding SeaDek. It is going to take about 8 weeks for a custom job for your boat!!!!!!

Boats I was looking at are so insanely expensive. I just wanted a boat with a cabin that has a door so I can stay warm in the winter. I'm in Alaska.

Great info. I was getting confused as you were saying next summer (2023) as opposed to this summer (2022) given this was posted Nov 2021. The way inventories are going maybe you did mean next summer.

Most boats change model years in July, so we are going to start getting 2023 models any day now!

That's tough, there are things I love about so many boats! I love the Malibu 21LX (haven't had a chance to ski it yet, though), Supra SL (the new one is amazing!), Malibu M220, Axis T22 (now the T220), and the G23 (although not my favorite wake, the comfort and fit & finish are tough to beat!)

What type of water you'll be boating in, what's your budget, new vs used, storage, different types of boats, ability to tow your boat with your current vehicle, insurance and permits, etc.. This video is seams like an ad for boat dealerships.
