Just come across this video , im having the same problem with my vw scirocco passanger side handle, when i try and put the back part back in and then push the plastic piece thats suppose to lock it in place i just dont think its going in, when that back piece is locked in does it have any give at all when you touch it?

maybe if at least you had indicated the shape of the hook that would be needed to REMOVE the handle - It needs to be removed before it can be refitted
