Thanks Gareth! Is there a way to improve the overall design/format of the created doc? Usually using Make you build you Google Doc template before, map the variables before sending them. Could we do something similar? Both creating and/or updating the document? I am currently trying to find the best way to generate reports (on google doc) that may includes "dynamic tables"... I find it very complex to insert tables in GoogleDoc using Making. While on the other side, Airtable has the capacity to create those grids/tables amazingly.

If you add "/export?format=pdf" to the end of the Doc url, and if the doc was stored in a public folder, you can put that in the Automation step where you're Updating the invoice which will let Airtable upload a PDF version of the file to the attachment field. You don't need a formula field or extra automation steps, just put the export bit at the end of the file url. Taken from @amodelmannequin 's super helpful comment on one of GAP's previous Airtable / Google Docs invoicing vids. Very good method to avoid billable services like Documint but the header of the columns on a black background automatically created by google docs is not at all esthetic and not very suitable for printing. Is there any way to avoid or eliminate this background?

This is great! How do you manage to make that client pay the invoice ? Is there a way yo send a payment link with the invoice ?
i think you should add link previously in a field, and then map it the same way Gareth does in the video with the invoice number
Is there an option to modify a document or create a template? Using HTML, Markdown, or another set of tags?

There's a 3rd party tool that can help with this. Check out Documint
