Finally a video of real fishing, not the catch and release they make, probably from somewhere where it has to be released and that’s why they are in abundance.
None really for sheepshead, fresh dead will work just fine. They will stay on the hook a lot better this way, and if I want to trout fish I have live shrimp that I hook in the horn to stay alive.
The palmetto bug is the best bait in the world for Sheepshead you've just got to know how to trap palmetto bugs once you learn you will stick with it because they attract the big Sheepshead the big ones chase the little ones away so they can get the bait first
@@johnnyearliwine6698 it starts by knowing where they're at when you find a tree that the palmetto bugs are eating all the inside of the bark you shove a couple of pieces of cat food into some of the holes and up and behind the bark place a handful of cat food in the bottom of an empty paint can and place at the base of the tree you have to be real quiet when you sneak up on the can and place the lid back on it palmetto bugs do not bite so they're easy to handle people just get grossed out by them because they're big roaches
I will set at least five or six traps in one area I have one of those baskets that I got a fiddler crab in at Sunsations but I'm in a Beach town it's easy to make a little basket to carry them in quarter inch square chicken wire repair roll from Harbor Freight works for that I use zip ties to hold it together until I've tie wired the whole thing
@@johnnyearliwine6698 I tried building a wire basket to catch them in for some reason they did not like that they do like the paint cans though I take an old knife and put slits in the sides of the cans but not big enough that they can squeeze out when you place them on the hook go to the edge of the body behind the head you don't want to kill them with the hook palmetto bugs drowned quickly so find the fish using your fiddler crabs worms black crickets but when you're on the fish it's time to break out the palmetto bugs that's when you catch the big ones on the drop before they have time to drown
I do that's the absolute easiest way you get em put enough chum down there they ain't going no where can sit there and hook up with some monsters all day and use the oysters for bait I never buy bait for sheeps.
Great vid! BUT I have a Chi Chi too! -the dog! Such a beautiful dog! It’s a pure breed that was cross between a Chihuahua and a Chinese crest-and only ONE out of every litter has hair! And looks just like him! Blk & wht cow print w a heart shaped pattern on the head!! (The rest of the litter is bald & has a standing Guinness book record for ugliest dog breed! 😂 but the ones w hair are gorgeous! And rare!
They are very plentiful around bridges, rocks, and docks during the winter months and early spring! Thanks for your comment, I love seeing where my viewers are from!
10:55 Yikes ! Your letting them send morse code. Flop flop flop.... I've caught more sea trout over 5 pounds on artificial than I can count or remember. I SUCK a sheepshead. I like a 6' medium heavy Ugly Stik. Your rod seems long and a bit flimsy at the tip. The rod looks stiff. But the working end look like it would have a delayed "set". Any thoughts would be appreciated.....
Sheepshead don't attack their pry, they chew. You've got to give them plenty of time before you set the hook. I like a 7'4"- 7'6" medium fast action rod for everything inshore, thanks!
I had it custom built in Louisiana from my design, it is truly one of a kind! This is an older video of a walk-through with all the details, thanks! ruclips.net/video/UcudwvtlZIE/видео.htmlsi=I6PJJXv5OHNSAcbB

No problem at all brother. This video explains the program in detail, thanks! ruclips.net/video/YmA9h-UP85o/видео.htmlsi=yrakcckfV6KCZyyv
Whats the point of live shrimp if you kill them when you hook them? We hook them in the tail or in the horn in Louisiana.
None really for sheepshead, fresh dead will work just fine. They will stay on the hook a lot better this way, and if I want to trout fish I have live shrimp that I hook in the horn to stay alive.
Nice video... Made me hungry!
Thanks brother!
Bring on the CONVICTS!!! Have you ever used ghost shrimp for them?
No, but I’m sure they would work! Definitely more convict catching coming up!

Thanks for the comment brother! I never thought about that, but I definitely believe it would work!
HOW DO U CATCH THE BUGS.

Very nice video, do you think that would work with fresh dead shrimp with heads off?.
Thanks brother, it will absolutely work with fresh dead shrimp.
Sir would you share this location? Have you ever fished under the bay way in Mobile bay?
Good video. Nice job thanks
Thanks brother, I appreciate it!
Do you bite the tails off ? That’s what we do.
Lol, no I leave them on.
What's up with the tagging? I think it's great.

Whats the best water temp
In my opinion, 64 and below.
Hello, what boat do you have?
It's my design that I got custom built several years ago. I have a full walk-through video of it on my channel from last year!
Do you scrape the pilings to chum the sheepshead
No I don't, I know a lot of people do though.
I do that's the absolute easiest way you get em put enough chum down there they ain't going no where can sit there and hook up with some monsters all day and use the oysters for bait I never buy bait for sheeps.
What do you sharpen your knife with?
Just one of those cheep white and blue quick sharpeners

How can we get you to fish more than one day per week?
I’ve been trying to figure out that one myself, lol!
Where is this?
Seems like Sheepshead fish are plentiful. We don't get them in South Africa....buy I sure wish we could catch them here!❤
They are very plentiful around bridges, rocks, and docks during the winter months and early spring! Thanks for your comment, I love seeing where my viewers are from!
In South Africa they catch Sparodon which is in the same family as sheepshead.
Thanks for the info brother, I’ll have to look those up!
Sparodon or South African musselcracker
Did I see a PBR in that koosie?
Yes sir, lol!

Thanks brother!
you are missing 2 great peaces of meat under the front side fins . on red fish & black drum also
Yes, I do cut out the throats sometimes on my bigger sheepshead and redfish. They are very good eating for sure!
What kind/size boat are you fishing out of? I'm in VA. Never seen one like yours.

Sheep dip not worth dying for
I agree, lol. Thankfully it passed over pretty quickly.
That's why no one will remember your name
