The universe is so amazing! There was nothing in this video that I didn't know already, but the shear vastness and age of our universe and everything in it still fascinates me to this day. And to think that I am a part of that universe, that just makes it feel all the more awesome! B)
Noob Question: Given that the images of our galaxy are inaccurate insofar as the more distant the stars the more their 'actual' positions differ from the light we receive from them, is it possible to detect direction and mathematically compensate (assuming it was not insanely computationally difficult) in order to create a map that is predictive to the point where that it shows stars in their actual current positions?
Do stars' and galaxies' gravitational pull effect the light traveling to us in way that will change their red or blue shift? I would image so, like if one we to put a ball past minor sloping holes, like the one's portraying the 3D effect of gravity on a 2D sheet.
In an area of sky the size of a grain of sand at arms lenth, there is still millions of galaxies billions of light years away...... The scale of are universe is just breathtaking.
"redshift is the only data we have" It's a bit more involved than that. Not only does redshift itself give us a complex dataset, but we also have CBR distribution.
Dark Energy is the reason for the acceleration of the expansion is simply due to the infinite nature of the Universe. A "spherical" Universe is actually infinite, then it must expand and accelerate in so doing. This leads to why it stays "full" of stars & galaxies. Could it be that new matter is undergoing constant creation (energy to matter transformation) at the heart of galaxies & quasars? Jets of material & energy shooting OUT of black holes. Gravity works backwards at scales of infinity.
@Dawitness11 wait... this is a troll isnt it? the more i look through the comments the more i notice how good you are are pissing everyone off... i kinda like that
@Dawitness11 So beautiful, when you realize you don't need to believe to find it beautiful! Imagine, a whole Universe to explore, with no reason to be there. If God was truly there, and the Bible was true about the creation, I wonder where we would see light before stars or the Sun (remember, Light was the first thing ever created)
@EnRage690 Stephen Hawking is amazing. He is still contributing to science today, and the fact that he openly challenges religion directly is not in any way bad.
@Aresftfun Cool with me, my friend. I just want a moon base right away because it's doable and will get us going. Once there is a moon base and it shows results, there will be more of a push to take the next obvious step. The journey to a thousand stars starts with a move to one planet. Let's go! Oh, plus if we set up a moon base - that will kill the "we never walked on the moon" conspiracy stories! ;)
@TheRationalizer good question. It starts at the CROSS. I asked God "how much do you love me?" he spread out his arms from left to right and said "this much". fight the good fight unto death. And you will be rewarded, that my friend is a promise.
« How does the distribution of the CBR lend evidence to DE? » Hypothetical dark energy affects the large scale structure of the universe. CMB distribution data such as WMAP data provide insight into developments of that structure, allowing to test hypotheses that involve dark energy. See also: Jun-Qing Xia et al, 2006, Probing inflation and dark energy with current cosmological observations Ellis, 2003, Dark matter and dark energy (review) And of course find more sources at Wikipedia.
Let's make a moon base with the primary function of being an off-earth observatory. Of course, the base could be used for countless other space-based experiments too, and it would give us our first real toe-hold off earth. Come on. Let's get moving on this right away please. Thank you. Or, we could just fight another trillion dollar war. Your choice.
@TheRationalizer I never seen that. Is that something you made up? Is that something that has stood through the test of time? Is that something that has been here for more then 2000 years? Is that something that is still here even though people like you tried to destroy it so many times?
@AncientAtheist The latter! No just kidding. It would be awesome if the govt. spent more money on astronomy and biology as they did with military. *sigh* stupid US. Someone send the congress on that. Anyways, I would recommend going to the moon for telescoping and Mars for testing things, since it has an atmosphere, and the moon in fairly close.
@DragonCuber You do exist cause you are replying to him here. That's proof enough for me. What about his god? Can he write here to prove his existence?
@ramblinevilmushroom I am telling them something that surpasses all knowledge they will learn in this short life. Though most won't listen, they have to know. I have hope for them. its not that im trying to get them mad no. I want them experience God almighty. Most humans have a wrong idea of who God is because life is hard. yes life is Hard but it doesn't change who God is. people curse God like it hurts them but the only thing its going to hurt in the end is themselves.
@ronnystoehr what are you talking about? are you talking about the Moslims or the Catholics? If you are then I thought you should know that I am nether. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I guess it is sad to you, I think it is great to me that people are being burned. And if know history, they where burning people who where like me. Words are important. They reflect whats inside.
@ramblinevilmushroom excuse me evil person, I am only telling them the truth. Yea the truth hurts. understand I am using a double edged sword slicing through the lies with one end and healing with the other. OUCH!! then wow thanks!
@TheRationalizer do you not understand that Christianity is just a name. I believe in Jesus the Messiah, and he has been written about more then 2000 years ago he was foretold . this isn't religion. Religion is a thing that tries to figure out how to do something through human efforts. No we relay on God alone to reach heaven, there is nothing we can do to go there. No good deed, no special prayer, nothing can get us into heaven. Only by faith alone, that is not religion
@EnRage690 What are you talking about? 'That guy in a wheel chair'? I assume you mean Stephen Hawking. And pretty much most of what is on this channel displaces religion, just relies on the viewer having enough intellect to be able to see that without it being spelled out...
@ronnystoehr well actully u are wrong, God Has spoken to me. and yes this old book has words from God. The book was inspired by God! Believe in Jesus, Be baptized in his name and repent from your sins and you will be saved.
@EnRage690 steven hawkings was taken out of context. you are getting you're new's from a bias source. do some research before you go saying stupid things.
@Dawitness11 you are wrong, listen Allah is the one true god and you are not. Allah is the creator and Mohammed is his prophet. drop your pride and accept Mohammed as your salvation. simple as that. no religion involved.
@ramblinevilmushroom so not funny. this isn't a game listen I'm not trying to kill you I'm trying to save you...Jesus said believe in me though you may die you will live.
@Dawitness11
Why does it start with the cross and not the lotus flower which sprang from Vishnu's naval?
these vids are always so interesting, thanks for all the hard work!
@cfx3 bad mic, i think there's some signal cancellation happening. I agree, it's uncomfortable to listen to.
@pipkin1973 Did you try changing the settings?
The universe is so amazing! There was nothing in this video that I didn't know already, but the shear vastness and age of our universe and everything in it still fascinates me to this day. And to think that I am a part of that universe, that just makes it feel all the more awesome! B)
@Dawitness11
Faith, believing something without evidence.
Where do you start? Importantly, where do you stop?

@Dawitness11 And you responded just the way I expected, predictable you are. Thanx for participating.
In an area of sky the size of a grain of sand at arms lenth, there is still millions of galaxies billions of light years away...... The scale of are universe is just breathtaking.
sweet vid and awesome imagery
Keep up the good work.
Amazing. I love this stuff.
Amazing how much of our universe we've already uncovered. Though we're still on our way to planning how we'll scratch the surface.
truly great stuff here
Great vid!
Very awesome video...
@RazielKain Ever heard of Radio Telescopes? ;)
we live in a very beautiful place thanks to those who show this in truth
They definitely have the GOODS on this one.
dark energy fascinates me so much!!!
A great video. Thank you.
"redshift is the only data we have"

Incredible.

pretty cool video
"which is redshift"
cbr may be redshifted, but i was referring to the distribution pattern, not It's redshift.
@HiJaQue No problem. I hope you will one day consider.
The sound disappeared on mine :(
@Aresftfun Agreed!
awesome! awesome! awesome!
Science FTW!
@Dawitness11 wait... this is a troll isnt it? the more i look through the comments the more i notice how good you are are pissing everyone off... i kinda like that
Yay Robert!
@ramblinevilmushroom Just like taking the ride on the boat, inside a whale or walking across the Red Sea LOL!
@Dawitness11

As you read this, somewhere in the Universe, life has begun.

@andreeaweed indeed
@Aresftfun on second viewing it was fine.... As you were ....
@Dawitness11 heheh... continue :>

@DragonCuber Because it's either the facts, or his faith.
I love these videos but this guy freaks me out. Im not even sure why but he does.
@Dawitness11 really...does that answer the question?? no
Let's make a moon base with the primary function of being an off-earth observatory. Of course, the base could be used for countless other space-based experiments too, and it would give us our first real toe-hold off earth.

Check the guns on Dr. Hurt... wow!
wow

@Boy192 DITTO!
its so beautiful when u look at it as God's creation.
@jklarson66 oh really? OK mythology, right.
@ChainX Sorry! Wrong person. :(
space is quite big......
@EnRage690 haha true true.
@Dawitness11 and if you are good little boy all year long, he will come and leave gifts under your Christmas tree!
@goemon9378 this is what children of the TRUTH call FALSE doctrine.
@ProjectDecade And by "funny", I'm sure you mean insane. ;)
@ProjectDecade i think i know who....dawitness11
@Dawitness11
I believe god also had a son named "Dave", and whoever believes in Dave will not go without fish and chips.
@AncientAtheist The latter! No just kidding. It would be awesome if the govt. spent more money on astronomy and biology as they did with military. *sigh* stupid US. Someone send the congress on that. uh huh huh huh... she said Deep
or is it Ra or Zeus, i can't remember.

@Dawitness11 So, you're hearing voices? Or is it just a funny feeling? And this god, does he still support slavery and global genocide?
Sigh. When I was young, the universe was much smaller...
@Dawitness11 Read your Bible. Actually it says "the earth and all it's works will be burned up." You can't even get your myth straight.
@Boy192 One reason that I came here is for the great science and the other to leave religion behind.
@DragonCuber I have a life. Do you?
@ronnystoehr what are you talking about? are you talking about the Moslims or the Catholics? If you are then I thought you should know that I am nether. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Too many pillars and columns.
@Dawitness11 oh ok, what makes christianity true, but islam false?

@goemon9378 in Islam they say Jesus was a prophet am I right? then if that is true why don't you listen to him?

@ramblinevilmushroom so not funny. this isn't a game listen I'm not trying to kill you I'm trying to save you...Jesus said believe in me though you may die you will live.
@EnRage690 ...plus, you complain about destroying religion, at the same time you say "god damn it". isn't that blasphemy?
The spitzer guy has a bad mic, or a bad way of speaking..
Human potential at it's best! Science rules!
