it's pretty fun that secret characters literally acting and look like they really were secret characters in old MK (I mean, secret Reptile not only have old skin, but also using Sub-Zero freeze and Scorpion hook because in MK1 he didn't have his acid powers and was just a Scorpion and Sub-Zero Mash-up with green palette). Or Smoke using Scorpion hook because in old games he mostly was based on Scorpion (especially in MK2, because he was a secret, and even in MK3, where he become playable, even in cyborg form he used hook). These details really looks interesting, it's not just fan-service, it's something more to MK veterans.
This it actually fan-servise. You don't have to be a veteran to know these facts. I haven't played classic or postclassic. I got to know this franchise after this restart, but I know almost everything about it because this series got me hooked.

So for example, 2:10, 3:10 and so on and so forth), a meteor will pass by all the towers and you have to hit [Up, Left, Up, Left, Right Left, Up] and a secret tower will appear on the top right. To access the tower, you need 250,000 Koins, 2,500 Souls, and 500 Hearts. The tower only has one person to fight with a bunch of mods. If you beat them, you get a free Kombat League skin.
For those who don’t know or see it but in this arena in the back you see can see a sleigh flying by the moon. I remember seeing that then fighting reptile the key details

One thing I miss about this game is the animations for Cyrax and Sektor actually changed when you picked their human skins I also miss the old damage system during the fight
I was only able to unlock the reptile and Noob Saibot nice to see that you were able to discover all of them. The reptile one was also on the original Mortal Kombat 1 that I unlocked by accident do to the fact that i was made because i keep on losing in the pit stage a lot and noob saibot was just lucky that i won both rounds like you did in Mortal Kombat 9.

If I'm being honest MK9 felt more like MK1 than any other of the recent games. Being edgy and brutal while at the same time not taking itself seriously, that's the feeling I get from MK1. And MK9 matches it perfectly.
What’s cool is how some of the requirements didn’t completely disappear, but simply got moved around or changed to still mirror the original. For example in the original MK1 to unlock the secret Reptile fight you also could not block (but could still use the block *button* for moves) and the stage Fatality specifically didn’t count towards the requirement, whereas the requirement to not block got moved to Noob’s secret fight and the condition for the Fatality got flipped so the stage Fatality is the only valid one. (Which makes a bit more sense since that’s where you’re knocking down to.)
I remember the first time I got a secret battle I was like what this is just reptile but he had subzeros special moves and I was surprised but I did beat him with scorpion and the whoopsie 4:29 always used to get me 😂
The first time i triggered a secret fight was the Noob Saibot one While fighting Noob Saibot lmao, I thought i was fighting against Noob's shadow manifestation or something

In MK1, the Pit Fatality wasn't actually counted as a fatality, you just needed to do an uppercut and it was more like a special animation

Bring back PLAYING to Unlock games. The fun of the game was doing certain challenges certain ways to get the character or thing you wanted.
