The cello or violoncello is a bowed (sometimes plucked and occasionally hit) string instrument of the violin family. Played by a cellist or violoncellist, it enjoys a large solo repertoire with and without accompaniment, as well as numerous concerti. As a solo instrument, the cello uses its whole range, from bass to soprano, and in chamber music such as string quartets and the orchestra's string section, it often plays the bass part, where it may be reinforced an octave lower by the double basses.
Among the most well-known Baroque works for the cello are Johann Sebastian Bach's six unaccompanied Suites. From the Classical era, the two concertos by Joseph Haydn in C major and D major stand out. Well-known works of the Romantic era include the Robert Schumann Concerto, the Antonín Dvořák Concerto, the first Camille Saint-Saëns Concerto, as well as the two sonatas and the Double Concerto by Johannes Brahms. A review of compositions for cello in the Romantic era must include the German composer Fanny Mendelssohn who wrote Fantasia in G Minor for cello and piano and a Capriccio in A-flat for cello.

Waltz of the flowers by Tchaikovsky will always be my favourite. It's like you're dancing and swirling around with your loved one in a forest like the scene in Sleeping Beauty.

One of my favorite Instrument other than the piano, guitar, clarinet and flute! All I can describe about the Cello is that it's a Catalyst for a magic spell that can put you to into a state of clarity and peace. It's not as loud and energetic as a Violin, but that's what special about it. Its voice feels mature and bold. Ig that's the reason why the older I get the more I love how it sounds. We need more Cello pieces in this world!
The cello is one of the most intriguing instruments to listen to when driving.
Bach was such a great composer, perhaps my favorite one. All of his pieces always delights me. They're so beautiful and impressive in ways I can't describe.
When I was reading the comments tears started falling without me even knowing. All the comments are so touching. It's so nice when the people we love hurt us, but some unknown stranger comforts us. I am so thankful to everyone who shared beautiful kind comments. It is so lovely to see people who care about me. Thank you for the music and the kind comments.

I'm impressed by Massimiliano Martinelli's interpretation of the Bach cello suites. Most play it like they're in a hurry to get to the end but his style reminds me of Pau Casals where he seems to savor every movement

C’est l’instrument majeur en dramaturgie mais j’avoue avoir passé tout mon après midi hier à écouter les concerts d’HAUSER et souvent je me suis amusée. Il mélange classique et populaire et pourquoi pas ! il faut reconnaître qu’il est très drôle et sympa on a envie de chanter et danser. Bref de délicieux moments passés avec lui je ne m’en lasse pas❤️👌

If I wanted shrill chaotic noise in my ear, I would switch to a podcast and listen to people yabbering off script.
I did notice the violins coming in earlier, I of course did not notice my tension rising until I was absolutely full of rage because I was focusing on my writing. Thank goodness I didn't recommend this particular playlist to my mother without fully listening to it. I'm glad I paused on that because it sounded like my father's music from the start. Some of the arrangements are absolutely gorgeous recentering on the cello: something new from old I love ingenuity.
But not you, Morricone, you have long overstayed your welcome in my life; goodbye!
