Dang Jake... I am not sure what it was because your reviews are always crazy thorough... Maybe the pacing or the format, but for some reason this struck me as possibly your best review yet. This info and quality of feedback from someone with your experience should come at a premium constation fee from a manufacturer... It is amazing how lucky we are that you are putting this out there for free to the masses. Stellar work man, can't get enough! 👍
He does a good job. I'm new to the channel and can tell he's full of helpful info. Making me want to get back into shooting. I had a bow when I was younger but nothing fancy.
I miss shooting Olympic style. I didn't have a lot of understanding of playing with my gear to achieve different feel, different flight, more forgiveness. I just worked on my form and my mental game. This channel is a wealth of information.
Jack. I have been shooting for a little over 2 1/2 years and felt it was time to upgrade. So recently I bought a new Exceed 25” riser with the Integra lams. Going down to my archery club to set up my new equipment. Your video answered and really helped with my decision. I have been an organized sports all my life and I know how important it is to have good coaching and good equipment. I really enjoy your videos lots of information keep up the good work. after I shoot my bow for a while I’ll get back with you and let you know how it went. thanks
Excellent as always Jake , really enjoyed and got some really valuable information, especially regarding the plunger plates and the limb rockers ,so good to have that technical stuff broken down, the way U do it 😁🤩
Great review, thanks Jake. It just happens to be the exact same set-up (even the riser colour and limb finish) that I have ordered. So I was very pleased to hear you were impressed with it. But, mine won't be 47lb !
Great review, especially because I plan to buy the "Xi"-Riser with the "Slate"-colour! 👌 I really appreciate your comments about the tuning-possibilities of the new Hoyt-riser generation. 😊 Greetings from Germany!
yes it comes with two grips one black and the other white. i have two xceed (really pleasant risers) i shoot them with the GP integra. My formula vélos limbs are for my XI and they are not in mat version which i regret because of the finger prints . whatever i like them a lot . oh i almost forget about the xceed what is really nice too is the weights that can be screwed on the riser ... or in the riser, they fit the open spaces of the riser .
Very good review. It's interesting to see the difference in recurve to compound on the used market. Recurve archers actually keep their bows for a while and it makes a ton of sense considering the time invested to make them shoot.
How about you make a video about comparison the veloz limbs vs integra limbs or others ,i think that is interesting ( comparison Speed, Group, and feel)
I’ll see if Hoyt will send me some. I’d love to review more beginner type stuff but right now I’m relying on what companies send me with the exception of the UUkhas and Gillos
Great video! I bought the 27 in riser and bare bow weights. Adjusting my Integra limbs was easy. Try the pro bare bow weight. I had the bare bow riser weights in stainless steel and used the plates and inserts on the pro weight in stainless.
What is your opinion of this riser from a Barebow perspective? Is it better or worse compared to the Formula Xi for Barebow? Thank you for your videos. Always very helpful.
Thank you for all your informative content! Started shooting in the middle of the year, your tuning series really helps. Thinking of upgrading to a higher end, faster riser when I get deeper into the sport (deciding between Hoyt, W&W and MK archery) Will you be reviewing any MK archery risers? Those look really nice, but yeah, don’t see many videos, especially comprehensive ones about those right now.
Will be interested to see what you think of the XL Velos, and how they shake out in the speed comparison. As far as I can tell, they're the Formula long limbs molds but drilled for ILF, so the working area of the limb is the same as a long limb. They feel great to shoot for stringwalking, but I also don't have any many points of reference as you do.
Hello Coach Jake ,I am a national archer from India ,I had previously shot an Inidan takedown bow and is currently transitioning to recurve and I just want to let you know that your videos helped me a lot ...thank you.. p.s ,I am getting the mid range hoyt alero riser ,is it good and how much does it cost there (cuz its expensive here with regards to the median income)
Hi Jake. Great review. Can't wait to see it barebow. Btw, I've seen there's a lot of BB archers like JD3, Dilly & others that prefer 27" risers but you stick to the 25". Any reason behind that or it's just how you used to with olympic style?
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Yeah, I've noticed that. But I meant something else. Lemme rephrase: You obviously have more than a lifetime of experience with archery and now have a good grasp of barebow, so... After playing with Gillo 27" and other risers of that form factor, have you been thinking about switching to 27" for barebow? And also, based on your experience, would you recommend switching to 27" or rather stay on 25" for the barebow archer, that physically built like yourself? p.s. Forgot to ask if you had any test on how are Uukha SX limbs fit on Xceed...
Mat looks cool but glossy is my thing. Also they get to charge customer same price for less material fewer process it’s a win win for Hoyt. Some custom recurve manufacturers like black tail charge extra for glossy finish. So if Hoyt drops $50 foe the mat finish I’ll take it in a heartbeat.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Thanks for the response! Yes, I have. I've watched it a couple of times looking for negative feedback on the riser. I was all set to get one when the government pays back my loan to them (tax refund). With the exception of a PSE X-Factor, I've shot only Hoyts & Skys since 1989 and was going to get a 27" ATF-X and medium limbs. You seem to really like the Exceed. I guess what I'm asking is which one you prefer and will shoot long term?
Another great video, but as a newbie to archery any chance of looking at more affordable risers and limbs. At the stage of getting my own equipment instead of using club gear. Thank you
Dear Jake, While waiting this video, I wondered if there's any advantage of increasing the draw weight(not tune wise). Since I'm drawing 39.5 on the fingers and can reach 70m. Is there any reason to why I should increase draw weight
Hi Jake, what is your go-to arrow rest for barebow? What did you choose as favorite? I've just watched your arrow rests guide from December 2019 and I'm super curious what are your thoughts after a year+.
Right now split between the AAE free flyte elite if I didn’t have a deep crawl and the zniper since it helps my crawl, although vane clearance is tough with it
Will you be doing some barebow testing with these? In my experience the XL Velos were the most forgiving limbs for deep barebow crawls due to the angle of the limb tips. In comparison to Uukha xcurve or something similar, it's night and day.
Jake did you use the plunger tension to finish the tune? Or did you get the bare shafts over with the draw weight adjustment? I know you use spring tension as a last resort, so I am just curious.
just a quick Q , does the high plate actually affects the sight marks? i feel that after changing to high plate , my sight marks decrease, but could be i messed up something... thanks jake
40:00 Generally, how low is too low of a GPP for an Olympic style recurve or barebow? The literature for my NS-G's didn't mention anything. Just curious, I'm sure the 8.0-8.5 I'm shooting is safe regardless
I wonder why hoyt dont make faster limbs. From your experience do you think that for example 10-15 fps faster but little less stable will be something worth considering ?
Anthony with Shore Shot Archery actually made a fairly in-depth test of the difference between the different limb angle settings, measuring the draw weight at 1/4" increments using a draw board: ruclips.net/video/XUrru_05Nhs/видео.html I shot an Xceed for a couple of weeks and generally felt that the difference was bigger than what these results would imply, but it could just be my imagination and overanalyzing what I experienced.

Beats the old GM cast risers, where you had to go through a box of handles to find a straight one.

Do you have a recommendation

Useful. Thank you

Ok
hi jake........ can you review spigarelli rev 2? my daughter learn a barebow and she wants to upgrade pse theory riser with another riser
just a quick Q , does the high plate actually affects the sight marks? i feel that after changing to high plate , my sight marks decrease, but could be i messed up something... thanks jake
Can I use riser without pocket weights?
Please reply sir...
Will you repeat this combo (with the Xceed and the same limbs) for barebow???
Did it... Xceed your expectations?
I look at the thickness of my 20lb limbs compared to those and it makes me cry!
What is Hoyt Exceed Riser aluminum material?
Yes

Sorry but link to pdf keeps getting removed lol."easton-arrow-tuning-guide"
I wonder why hoyt dont make faster limbs. From your experience do you think that for example 10-15 fps faster but little less stable will be something worth considering ?
Stability over speed any day for me. The raw speed they came in at was on par with everything I’ve ever shot.
Xceed was my first riser opinion to bought last year, but i choose ATF-x instead of it, dunno was right or not lol
Both are excellent options.
I have a 21” riser and a friend gave me 68” limbs. Can I use them together?
Does this mean you will be shooting Hoyt again
I have exceed golden riser and limbs...
I would think the white grip you would modify so you wouldn’t mess up a nice wood grip ???
I already had the modified wood grip on hand.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery so the exceed grips are not a good bare bow grip ? Like to use the exceed velos combo for bare bow possibly...
