But been watching ya channel for a long min now. Subbed like the second video I watched of you. But the passion in ya voice in this video seems as personal as it felt for me and I don’t know the man either. I’m a single mother raising a 16 y/o daughter. 4.1 GPA. Sophomore taking junior classes, enrolled in a tech program and completed a hack-a-thon (coding program) first time attending her team won first place. Before she ever took any coding program. She wants to be an engineer. As a mother, high school drop out to take care of siblings, had a full ride law scholarship. I’m so excited and proud to see my baby exceed so well due to her own work ethic, but I am also terrified. As a black woman in engineering I can see the struggles my daughter will face. In a career field where there is hardly women I am trying to prepare her for possibility of being the only black woman she may ever see in that space. It’s crazy being black to be so scared of your child being successful. They don’t want to see us winning. This story just hits deep in my soul. It’s so f’n sad. Just like dude they just let drown supposed to be his friends. He was a somebody to his community. They kill the great ones that uplift the community. Jail the ones that would fight back for the community. And the rest of us just left to fend for ourselves.
