      @@StephenQuan04 I took Industrial Electronics lecture in the university. In this lesson we used ELECTRONIC DEVICES
      AND CIRCUIT THEORY
      ROBERT BOYLESTAD
      LOUIS NASHELSKY book as a reference . There is a chapter 19 in this book there are some calculations about the capacitor values you can check this out.

      Output voltage you can measure using Voltmeter, expected voltage is 5 V DC.

    I want to create a interrupted power supply by adding 4x1.5V cells so that when the AC source loses power the batteries can kick in and take over, the batteries will have an output voltage of 6Vdc and it also need to be regulated by the LM7805 for an output of 5V. how can I go about achieving this?

      Either you are overloading it.. Or you mismatched the HV and LV polarities..!
