I have also done one or two, but once the wrong way round ie shaft first! It should not make any difference but it was a pain! Not yet looked at the rest of your comments and I should have first! Also I once had a needle turn sideways and punch the back of the cap out! You live and learn and I will not be the only one!

gford816 Not a problem, an even quicker way is to use an angle grinder and 1mm cutting disk to slit through the "yoke." You then just punch out the bearing cups. The method on film can be done at the side of the road however. Phill.
Use 2 sockets and your vise as a bearing press. The larger socket supports the yoke and the smaller socket is used the press the UJ cap into the larger socket on the other side.
