Leaf cactus like he’s using here grows very easily in the South. I learned about eating them from Mexicans, they’re delicious with deer meat.
Quick question: What died it taste like? Cos I'm imagining something like aloe Vera 😅

A truly ancient recipe! As a Saudi girl, I have never seen anyone eat Nopal cactus, even though it is widespread in some of our cities. I appreciate it.

Saudi is the most heartless peoples country, no humanity in them 😢
Nopales are native to the north American desert, in fact the eagle in the Mexican flag is perched on one. That might be the reason
@@amhumanperson3592 Just because a plant is native to a region does not mean it does not grow elsewhere. Coffee originates from Ethiopia but it is grown all over the Americas.
is not that ancient, garlic and onion were brought by the spanish to south america
I live in Texas, and we see so many of these cacti everywhere. I had no idea they could be so delicious!
Nobody's mentioning how they taste, and I feel like that's an important part of food.
You dont just get cactuses from the street lol. Go to a mexican store and buy some nopales they're soft and slimey in some extent.@@alecdickens1042
Opuntia. They’re everywhere. Some grow really far north and can handle being froze during the winter no problem. They also make prickly pear fruits that are edible as well.
