@@TheMortells Agreed! It is such an underrated city. I have family and friends that live in Morelia and in nearby vicinities. I easily go there up to 5 times a year to visit my parents (who retired and live there now) and my closest friends. I am looking into hopefully moving there and splitting my time between Chicago (where I live) and Morelia. Such a beautiful city filled with so much history and culture!
I have lived in Morelia-Michoacán for 35 years and it is a quiet place, I have never been assaulted, I have never been present in a shooting, I think that if you are, it is because you have very bad luck, almost as if lightning struck your head :D, going out at night is safe, and in the center it is very cozy, you can take an Uber anywhere, we love that people from other countries come and visit our beautiful city. I recommend not going to nearby places in Michoacán such as Apatzingan, Tepalcatepec, La Ruana, Arteaga, those places have problems with drug trafficking, it is very likely that the mafia is not interested in you, but there sometimes there are wars between rivals.
Thanks so much for your comment! We've heard the same from several other people from Morelia and Michoacán. Our experience was wonderful, and we're glad that that is the typical experience for visitors. Thank you for welcoming people like us with open arms!
So much beauty lies within Mexico however I still wouldn’t consider it a safe place as no such areas controlled by drug cartels exists in America and America is pretty dangerous. Im not saying you can’t survive there without being attacked but at the same I wouldn’t urge any tourist to visit a foreign place where the government isn’t always in charge.
If you give yourself the opportunity, you are welcome to this country, far from what you might believe from the scandalous news, it is quite safe, sometimes it is a shame that the media is so alarmist to have more ratings, and it creates too many fears.@@JohhLK94
Thank you for what you do and for this video. I have been anxious about my trip to Morelia and your video made me feel so much better and excited about my trip
I’m Mexican, from Mexico City, but fell badly in love with Morelia when I was 21 (I’m 28 now) I first started going there for an ex girlfriend who studied there, I was doing the trip like every week or 2 weeks, and sometimes staying for 1 or 2 months at a time, that lasted for about 4 years, and then I moved there for work, it was my dream to live there and from the very beginning I enjoyed the city so much, the food, the people, the mercados, and for someone who truly truly loves walking with no purpose Morelia is just amazing, I now live all the way in the north and miss Morelia so much, hope I can someday go back to stay.
Wow, I bet it was an wonderful getting to spend that much time in this city. It really has so much to offer and it was one of our favorite places we visited in Mexico. Good luck getting back there some day!
I grew up in Morelia and now I’m back in the US but i go visit my family every year. Morelia is a beautiful city with a lot of history, food and a lot more
We relocated to Morelia almost three years ago. My wife is a Mexican citizen and I'm from Reno, Nevada. I've never been victimized, or approached by ANY crime. Have never been scammed, because I'm from the US. I've never been made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. The people, culture, architecture, and the people have been wonderful! As in EVERY big city around the world, if you look for trouble, you can find it.
I imagine living full-time in Morelia has to be pretty incredible! Couldn't agree with you more about the people, culture, architecture (and food!). We hope to return to visit someday!
Glad to hear about your experience I’m from the Bay Area and planning on relocating with my husband and two kids to Morelia and love to see comments like this lol
I've lived in Michoacán for 24 years, very near Morelia. In all that time, the U.S. State Department has been whining about how you should not visit it. It's baloney. Don't visit bad areas, but the same can be said in the United States.
Just stumbled on your channel looking for info on Morelia. That is so cool that you travel with your pets, especially your cat (crazy cat lady here!). I am wondering about the logistics of that. Your kitty must be pretty mellow and I would imagine you got him(?) used to traveling at a young age. Helps that he’s orange 😸 Anyway, good luck on your travels and have fun!
Hey there! Yes we got pretty lucky with how chill Walker is. It did take some time for him to get comfortable to traveling but he isn't the type of cat that tries to run away so that makes life on the road a lot easier. We have met quite a few traveling cats on the road the last couple of years!

Please visit the national park and the devil's kneeling in uruapan michoacan the world's capital of avocado, try avocado ice cream avocado beer and the enchiladas and uruapan's coffe place in el centro.
My dear sister, you are visiting some of the best energy places on the earth and you are doing yoga on a synthetic mat keeping you from not grounding yourself to the Earth. The Earth will heal your body but you need to connect to it directly. Look up a documentary about grounding. Look forward to seeing you out walking around with your partner enjoying everything again.
I do practice grounding! Just not usually when I'm laying and rolling around on the ground :) I'm looking forward to being able to get out and do more again too. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for visiting Morelia, is a beautiful city but of course insecurity has always it own, so much to deal with the local people, just the only thing that I know is the most security parts from Morelia City is the southside.
We were there for six months and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Crime and danger can be found anywhere, even and very much so in the US. Our experience in Mexico nothing but positive.

It’s one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico in my opinion.
We agree! It's such a cool place. We're so glad we didn't skip it.

My cousin got mugged in Morelia near los americas shopping center 💀

I live far out in the woods off-grid in a rural area. It is fine.
Sounds lovely! We miss Morelia--we really enjoyed checking it out and never felt unsafe.

Yes we spent 5 nights in MXCD and loved our time there! The food and culture was amazing!
Would you ever consider Morelia as a place to live?
I definitely said 'I could live here' a couple of times while we were there. But I also said that in about 10 other places in Mexico too!

My suegra said that Michoacan is safe as long as you stay inside and don’t go out at night
Very good to know, thanks for sharing! We never felt unsafe while we were there.
Don't go out at night in a sketchy neighborhood, which is equally true in many cities above the border. Perhaps more so.
