Shore Fishing Walleyes on Icy ND Lakes

- I'd rather be in a boat, but there's no better time to shore fish than in the spring. And with the amount of ice still covering most the lakes in North Dakota, the best option to find some walleyes was on foot. We drove to and fished Sakakawea, Audubon, Hiddenwood, and Makoti all in one day and eventually found some active fish.

Nice video!! I love making fishing videos myself and really enjoy your content!! 🤝🤝
Thanks so much, Cole!
Great job. Fun video.
Thanks, Doc!
U didn’t get skunked at least. I was praying for a huge gold eye.
I know...biggest letdown of the video...no goldeye.
What is the shotgun shell on the end of your rod for? Is it to stop the wind from blowing your line 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
No, when the fish pulls, the line goes tight and pops off the shell in case you aren’t paying attention to the bite.
Never seen the shotgun shell indicator. Neat trick.
Me either!
Solid gold! I don't even need to make a video now. I couldn't have been done any better myself on creating the story out of the few clips we got yesterday. Nice job, Brett!
Thanks, man! And thanks for showing me the shore fishing technique and hanging out. It was a cool, new experience for me.
@@BloemendaalFishing Absolutely! I'm just happy it wasn't all stories and memories to prove that it catches walleye and it wasn't a fluke when we got the second one and lost a few minnows. Happy to have you back in the country again!
Same here on all accounts!
I was ALMOST gonna suggest you stay in the north iowa area to catch some walleyes and northerns since Sakakawea was mostly locked up yet. I've done pretty well with walleyes and northern since ice out here in north Iowa. But I'm sure you were eager to get north!
Wouldn't have been a terrible idea, but I had to get my boat to the dealer to get the work done in time. So glad those fish waited till open water to finally but for one of us!
Needs them waiters boys
I would if I did it more often!
