You’re truly an inspiration. I lost my job in October, and while I have always been frugal, I made enough money to enjoy more expensive food. I’m also a foodie and former chef, so a big part of my monthly budget was spent on fine meats and cheeses. Now that I’m not working, we are eating through our stockpile and embracing the basics again. Things our ancestors ate during really lean times that, when prepared well, are still absolutely delicious. Our basics now are potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, ground beef and oatmeal. You would be amazed at the yummy stuff you can make with truly humble ingredients. Thanks for another great video PP!

I used to play with Lorna, Liza and Joey, they would come over to eat often as they did not have much food at home. I've lived in Sedona since 1977 and still make my food hauls in Phoenix. I have a small chest freezer that is great for storage. I tend to cook for two days and freeze meals to enjoy for months. I make my own dog food, too.
@@minime7375 Recipe from my vet. I use a 3 pound chub of ground turkey or chicken, add a 1-2 pound package of broccoli slaw, a 6 oz bag of baby leaf lettuce. Cook half the ground meat with the vegetables till tender, turn off the heat, let it cool, add the rest of the meat and stir. I portion in baggies and freeze. The idea is to have some raw meat still in each portion. It should be 40% vegetable, no grains. Now and then I add some chicken livers, apples, canned pumpkin, carrots, etc. Dogs need leafy greens and some raw meat. It's the BARF diet, check it out on line. I've done it where I blend the broccoli slaw and greens to get them smooth (he'll spit them out otherwise} and mix in with the half cooked half raw meat so he gets all raw veggies, that works, too. I switch the meat to ground beef now and then, add some pork, etc. Buddy is an Italian Greyhound and is 19.5 years old and runs around like a puppy. He's eaten this way all his life
I’m in Australia .. Same here.. I would dread moving back to Sydney.. I much prefer the quieter life outside of a big city. I can’t cope with the sheer numbers of people in Sydney or the driving and parking anymore.. better quality of life in a small town.
My sister lived this way for almost 3 decades, saved enough money to give herself an amazing retirement. She planned to travel, to do all those things she had dreamed of. She died in a car accident and never got to see or experience those dreams. It is amazing how well you do with saving money but don’t forget to go live your life and enjoy those things you want to do. Life is short and none of us know when our last day will be. This is great info for young people but finding the balance is key.
Thank you! I know I could live on what I have stocked in my house right now other than fruits and vegetables. With all the prepper channels I watch I feel like I need to keep stocking. I am a single person and I don’t have but myself and my two dogs to provide for.
I've got to have my coffee too! When I was shut down from working for 2 months; when the pandemic first started in 2020; I was more concerned about having my coffee than food! When I drink coffee; I eat less food.
I'm a retiree and I have to watch my budget also. I found chicken for 69 cents a pound last week so I stocked up in my freezer. Also, keep in mind that cheese could be frozen so you could cut up your big chunk into a few servings and get more out of it. Also with vegetables, it's always nice to plant your own. The dollar store has seeds in spring each year for vegetables. I get my food in different stores, whichever one has sales, I visit on my bike. I enjoy creating beautiful meals that are healthy and reasonably cheap. I found eggs a few weeks ago for 99 cents and normally they are over $6 a dozen. I grow perennials, like sorrel for soups or salads, green onions, my tomatoes come out of the grown from previous years from seeds. I make flat breads that are really cheap, my favorite is the cooked sweet potatoes and white flour and you just cook it on the pan without oil, just heat for a few minutes on each side. There's so many ways to cook or bake for a quarter of the price and healthier also. It's fun to challenge yourself and create something out of practically out of nothing. I don't buy can goods or fake foods, just fresh, raw and dry. Just having potatoes in the house, you could create so many meals out of them. I make smoothies out of my vegetables and fruits, yum, yum. Thank you for spending time and creating your videos to teach people how to save, they should have classes in schools to teach the next generation on how to save and eat better.
Great video 👍 I’m like you…I cannot stand to be around a lot of people….My anxiety goes through the roof!!!! Definitely not a crowd person…never have been!!!! Rocky is adorable!!! I love animals more than people!!!🥰
Well I go to Dollar tree and I pick up eggs, milk, rice, three bags of frozen vegetables, two bags of peppers and onion Frozen, cheese, chicken nuggets, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, two things bottled water, and sometimes seasoning, and sometimes sugar and flour, and all my household cleaners. With a household cleaners it adds up to being about 20 bucks. That can last for you for the food 2 weeks. Basically I try to live on $10 a week. My guilty pleasure is the craft section which cost me some money but overall I try to live as cheap as possible cuz I don't have much money to survive on.
I am a mom of a big family, 8 kids. We spend about 900 a month on food . Which comes out to about 22 $ a person a week. I truly believe we can all survive and be healthy on a lot less food then we think we can. Nice video. Thankyou.
Poor Rocky. The Like is for him. He deserves some steak. I worry about yours AND Rocky's nutrition. I know you don't like comments like this one but, it's a valid and genuine concern. Please take care of yourself and Rocky. Love you both. ❤
It is amazing how much good quality meat you can buy while staying within your budget when you do not buy candy, snack foods, carbonated drinks, frozen dinners, process lunch meat and other pre-cooked, over-processed food-like products.
I’m a one meal a day person as well and an introvert. I work as an Education Assistant with 2nd and 3rd graders here in Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦. I’m new to your channel and really enjoy your content. It’s been very helpful in helping me tighten my budget. Food is so darn expensive here! ❤️ me some coffee ☕️ too.
So glad you made this video in particular. I am a Senior Citizen on a very tight grocery budget (mainly because rent takes up 77% of my monthly budget). Most low-budget videos DO NOT CORRECTLY REFLECT HOW TO PURCHASE FOOD and still eat healthy diet when living on low budget. Most will take monthly budget amount, then divide by 4 weeks, and purchase only 1 week's worth of food. That is how upper middle-class and over PRESUME low-income people should purchase their food. TOTALLY WRONG! My grocery budget is $50 per month and I do eat 3 healthy meals per day. 1 meal has meat, 1 meal has dairy, and remaining meal might be vegan or dairy. My emphasis is purchasing about 95% sale items only, and it is "lopsided" just like your haul in this video. It is very myopic to purchase only enough for 1 week, need to look at spanning WEEKS IF NOT MONTHS, just like you bought 6 months of meats, coffee, etc. if those are sale items. For example, back in early November freezer was 80% empty, but luckily one store had 1-pound bags of frozen vegetables on sale for 88 cents each, so I bought 25 bags in 1 trip, costing around $25 with $25 remaining for rest of month. That was about 4 - 6 months of frozen vegetables. Now on the look-out for the next CATAGORY on sale. That is only way to stay ahead of curve. It would surprise most non-low-income people that I am still able to purchase high-ticket items for the year, like pecans, walnuts, and almonds, all for $4 or less because they were on sale during holidays. I concentrate on nutrition density first (the USDA's My Plate Guidelines) like dark leafy greens and orange vegetables (1-pound per week of each type), vegetables are more important than fruits, modest amount of meat, dairy more often than meat, a half cup of beans every day, etc.
I absolutely love your videos. I’m not quite as frugal but you’ve inspired me to bring my grocery bill for my husband and I to $70 a week from what use to be $100. Progress 😅😂
With the fish heads make a stock and freeze it, take all the fish meat, you can add some flour, an egg, parcely and make a patty. Then with the stock you can make rice with vegetables and serve it with your patty, Very good.
I take notes when I watch your videos. Thank you so much for these videos. They have literally changed my life. For example I am saving 1,100 dollars per year by switching to AAA insurance! Thank you Thank you thank you!!!!
Thanks for being real! I’d really love to see a video on how you make Rocky’s food. I used to make raw food for my cats, and would love to try a cooked option for our dogs.
I get the same results. When I eat more than needed, the weight is going up just like yours. I eat one warm meal a day, and sometimes no meal at all if less activity than usual. At morning and the evening I usually enjoy tea with loaded bread. I am frugal, even if in Finland no one really knows what is frugal except me, and this way I only spend less than 85 euros a month on food.
My budget after rent is 200 euros, including 6 bills I need always, and the rest is for food and miscellaneous. It's liberating when you can save even from that!!
When I'm home then I seem to eat less than when I work but I'm trying to learn how to do my shopping for 6 months at a time. We're eating down the freezer now and restocking quarterly at this point. The goal is to feed hubby, myself, the dog and the cat for less than $300 per quarter. Next shop is beginning of November...we live in a tiny town so its a drive to the "big city" to make a run to Sam's Club and Aldi's to do that grocery shopping trip. Cutting back my hours at work to keep my health as my top priority and I do go to the food bank when I need to. We're working on rebuilding savings from some emergency craziness over the last few years and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm thankful for the extra help with my groceries.
Daughter of a meat cutter here ! Buying whole chicken is best cuz rotten pieces are cut off bad chickens and the remaining good parts are put into "piece " packs.
I make a great frugal chicken soup with a Costco rotisserie chicken (which is huge). In a large soup pot I add the deboned chicken, 16 - 24 oz frozen bag of mixed vegetables, 16 oz cauliflower rice from Costco or Dollar tree, a couple of ribs diced celery, a chopped large sweet onion, some chopped up boo choy (including leaves), water to desired level and chicken bouillon to taste. Cook till veggies are done. Makes 12 - 14 servings approximately 12 oz each. Freezes great. Tasty, low calorie and very soothing if you are not feeling well. Cheap, quick & easy to make. tastes better than any soup from a can.
Wow there is somebody else who does this long term shopping at Winco's. It's a two hour roundtrip for me, but well worth it. I usually try to include other stops when I go shopping. Today I went to a $.99 store (although it's all $1.25 now) got a nice haul of things I needed other than food.
I understand. People with health issues and food allergies and sensitivities are not her target audience. Personally, I have am also on a low carb diet and have food allergies. The food with bar codes is minimal.
Looks like you got some really good deals, even grass-fed beef. I’m also an introvert, and shopping can stress me out. I especially don’t like crowds. Like you, I love my coffee!
I totally understand the one meal a day and coffee. I eat very small amounts. Have done this my entire life and I’m 66 and weigh 105 5’2 and healthy. Just the way my body works
Your prices were 1/4 of what they are in Northern Kentucky. Just the chickens were amazing. Happy for you Prepper Princess. Glad you treat yourself to your beloved coffee I love Coffee too but wow! It has really gone up. I think you did a wonderful job.❤❤
I could never do this with a husband who eats big portions, a toddler who eats 5-6 times a day and myself. I spend more like $60-$90 a week with some bulk purchases at Costco throughout the year.
Well done, I normally go to Sweden 4 times a year, looking forward to open borders again! A tip from a pro - open all packages before freezing, divide your chicken and other meat, into portion sizes. Put the meat into ziplock bags, that saves up a lot of space. (I have a small freezer too)😊
You have no idea how much time you have saved me, which in the end equals $$$$$$. Because of videos like this one I do NOT have to stand in front of my pantry to figure out what I need and use your list as an outline. So greatful.
Fish head is delicious! 😁 It's great for seafood soup! You can boil the heads and add garlic, onion and ginger. Season it with salt and pepper and add chopped scallions at the end. And if you're not allergic to MSG, add a little bit while it's boiling. You can eat the meat if you're adventurous to pick some of the bones and drink the soup. If you put a lot of water, save the broth for the freezer and you have an instant fish soup when you need a hot soup. You can also add veggies with the soup. And if it's only a broth, add an egg at the end of reheating/cooking and mix. Instant egg drop soup with fish flavor! Hope this helps! 😁🙏
Meatless Taco Tuesdays - I take two corn tortillas and warm them for flexibility. I take ~2-3 tablespoons worth of re fried beans and warm them for spread ability. Take one tortilla and spread out 1 tbls of re fried beans all over it. Place the second tortilla on top and spread out the remaining re fried beans down a center stripe. I then take black beans/garbonzos/cannelli and add them on top of the re fried bean strip. I warm everything in the microwave (~20 secs). I the add chopped onion/tomatoes and your favorite crunchy veg(lettuce/cross cut peas/cabbage/etc.). Next, you add some red taco sauce 2-3 small dollops of sour cream and some taco/cheddar shreaded cheese. These tacos are a flavor explosion and they are fairly reasonable! Enjoy...
Yes! I have adopted the one meal a day too! I feel so much better... AND my food cost has dramatically reduced. I did it naturally. I adopted to fasting until mid day or early evening depending on my activity or hunger. But the dramatic food cost reduction- I could not believe!
One thing I have found is that frozen veggies are very handy. I keep frozen onion and pepper strips, mixed veggies(corn//carrots/peas/gr beans), & sliced mushrooms. They are somewhat cheep/quick/used in a lot of dishes. Example: 20-minute Shepard's Pie - You take a frozen Hamburg patty(or 1/4 lb hamburg) and defrost in the microwave(1 min for 1000W). Fork pierce deep enough potatoes to make mashed pots. Place in microwave for ~10-12 mins. Cook thawed hamburg in skillet, add in mixed frozen veggies/onion&pepper strips/mushrooms. As they thaw, add in Worcestershire sauce & steak sauce & red wine and do a 50% reduction. When the microwave is done, mash the pots, add milk&butter&some shredded cheese. Place the meat/veggies in bottom of a bowl, spoon mashed pots on top(make pretty fork lines) and place under the boiler on high for 5 mins. For two people just double everything. Anything that requires hamburg(Spanish rice/american goulash/quick chili) can use this frozen hamburg patty trick. Enjoy...
Some thing I did to streach food was. If I buy chunky soup I would add 1 or 2 cans of vegetables in kind of what was in that soup. The soup would be thicker with more of the same vegetables but I had 3 times more at a cheeper price. I would do the same with some other soups I would add other vegetables to it so I get more of it but less price. Then I would have 3 meals. Canned vegetables are .50c or less. When I make augrautin potatoes I would slice up 2 regular potatoes and added to it. Then bake it. I did switch over from jar grevy to powered gravy. My jar gravy went bad before i used it all. I need to find a BULK Grocery store. I would love to buy that gravy in bulk then packs. Going from the jar to packs has saved me a ton already. I LOVE cutting back and saving BUT I am also in weight loss so I must keep it as healthy as posable. I have lost 50lbs so far and I need to get another 35 lbs off. It's important to me.
Congrats, Paula, on the weight loss & dollar savings! Prepper Princess has inspired me to get control of my money in so many ways, and it actually has been inspiring me to get my whole life in control... my health for one... and getting this excess weight off that I put on with covid lockdowns. All the best to you!
I just spent 450.00 on dog food. I have a family of 4 and spend easily over 1000 a month on groceries tho I am stocked up for a year and a half for when this pops off
I’m currently taking stock of my life to reduce waste and be more frugal. I wish we had more frugal bulk stores in Australia like they do in America. But Australia is generally an expensive place to live, especially in my city. Watching your videos has been fun, I especially like that you’re just being yourself and not trying to be ridiculous, gimmicky, or over the top with long intros and repeating the same request to subscribe like so many people on RUclips. I love seeing someone being an individual. Love from down under ❤️
Hi, im from Australia too 'G'. Australia is a lot more expensive - those grocery prices Prepper Princess pays are amazing. America has very low wages therefore lower grocery/retail pricing compared to Australia.
I love cream in my coffee and haven't found a reasonable substitute until I was in the liquor store and the Bailey's called out to me. Now in my store room is a bottle and a note - not to be opened unless farmer's on strike. I can give up meat, bread and butter but oh how I need that cup of coffee, and it has to taste good.
This totally inspires me to save. I can't eat processed food due to immune disorders so saving in food is difficult. I have to have organic coffee too and if I couldn't drink coffee I would die! Lol. Also, I have 5 dogs and 3 cats (all rescues) so I spend more money in food for dogs/cats than on my own food🥴. Love the channel..
Stumbled across your RUclips post yesterday. I'm addicted now. Retired early and living a frugal but comfortable life now in Bulgaria. Keep up the good work 👏
I am OMAD. It saves tons of money and it's all you can eat once a day mainly after 12:00 noon. Stop eating after 5 PM! I have great health and am carnivore.
I bulk cook my meals so I buy meat quality meat every 3 or 4 months. One whole roasted chicken can feed me for a week... not to mention on the broth/soup I make out of the bones. Nothing goes to waist. I like fresh veggies and fruit so that is where my food budget goes. Nothng goes to waist there either. I freeze vegetable peels/scrap for my broth. My cat is also on prescriotion food which is pricy.
Same here. Love my coffee ( latte, mocha, cappuccino 's ). I eat 2 meals a day & my body is happy with that. I eat a lot of fruits & this hydrates my body wonderfully plus I just love fruit. Love salads too & eat hardly any meat but have furr babies that eat mostly meat. I love your videos on food recipes & your bargain prices. I hate being around a lot of people too so I hear you loud & clear. You've taught me a lot about budgeting. Thankyou p.p. ❤️ P.s. I freeze cheese.
Agree about the coffee. I only drink coffee for breakfast with hazelnut creamer, about 2 cups. It makes me nauseous to eat anything before 11 am. I make "breakfast" for lunch on Saturday or Sunday: toast with eggs and bacon.
Love your videos! QUESTION......Why did you stop dividing your meat up prior to freezing? I'd really like to know. In a prior video I saw you divide it up with freezer paper. Thanks!
Salmon head is great for making Filipino sinigang which is soup soured by tamarinds ( powder sachets are available too ) . Fry the heads. Sauté some ginger . Heat up 2 liters of water . Sour the soup with sinigang mix or real tamarinds. Add the sautéed ginger, Add some fish sauce , and onions and a piece of finger chilli. Add the fried fish heads. Drop in some spinach for greens . Serve with rice.
The biggest thing for most people is just avoid eating out every meal and keep your diet simple. if you can do that your food bill will become a lot cheaper and easier to shop for.
We went off beef when my husband got cancer. Its too hard to digest. So ground turkey for soups hamburgers mexican food etc. Chicken and fish. I cook a lot like you do. Used to feed four on 30 a week
You should grow your own lettuce inside in mason jars (or whatever jars). You can cut them multiple times, seeds are cheap, and they don't need much light. They are one of the few veggies that you can effectively grow inside on a sunny window. Search for Kratky Hydroponic method.
Everyone has an opinion and should do what works for them. We eat two meals per day usually and do very physical work. Having said that, we garden and this last year, my husband also built a greenhouse from salvaged materials. I also can and freeze veggies, homemade tomato sauces, pesto, berries, dry herbs, put up walnuts and hazelnuts, applesauce and such in the warm months. The only thing that might be a good move for you is to consider a leafy green juice or salad per day. So many nutrients, will really fortify you, your skin will glow, you will be in better health than ever, etc. We got our juicer from a garage sale for $5. Today, we're having kale and baby green salad with radish, celery, grape tomato,, persian cucumber and hemp hearts. All the veg grown by us. Homemade tahini dressing, which is inexpensive, delicious and healthy. Dinner will be some lentil pasta "lo mein" I will put kale, onion, carrot, garlic, celery, Chanterelles my DH foraged and sesame oil, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, etc. We try to eat meat every other day pretty much. Yesterday I boiled a couple eggs from our chickens to add to our lunch salad and for dinner, we thawed some turkey I roasted previously (with added homemade gravy) put that over the top of a slice of spouted grain toast. I also sauteed some spinach/garlic/grape tomatoes on the side. Dessert was some unsweetened, organic cinnamon apples I made this fall from our orchard. We spend very little and eat like kings!
Enjoyed your video! Always looking for ways to save yet have good nutritional foods. Btw, my dog would kick his bowl around when he wanted food too. So cute
Here in the UK, food amount other things is increasing. Batch cooking is a winner in our house, getting organised is a massive help to save money and time.
I hear you with the coffee! I'm not a three meal a day person either. Two at the most ànd I get scolded about that by some medical professionals and not others. The opinion about only eating when your hungry baked greatly depending who you ask and what their theory is. I had a weightloss Dr say there's nothing wrong with skipping and only eating when hungry then I've had other day gotta eat 3-5 times a day. Well I feel like I'm over eating at that rate. I'm just so accustomed to eating one or two meals a day. Different strokes for different folks.
Hi, Prepper Princess. I am from Croatia sea cost (currently living in Germany) and what you can do with these big fish heads is a nice soup. Keep in mind that fish has a tender meat, so cook veggies first until almost done and then add the fish 😋🐟.
Cook fish heads on low. Take meat out after 10 minutes or so. You can make fish cakes with it. Then cook for another 30 minutes or so and you'll get really good-for-you fish broth. You can make miso soup with it or whatever else. And you could even bury the spent bones in your garden. :) Great fertilizer.
Hear, hear! From one coffee addict to another, I’m totally on board. I guess that I’m fortunate enough to go shopping on a weekly basis and always look at the specials online before I head out. Thank goodness for large pantries and freezers.
A lot of people do omad and I think that’s what I should do. Right now I generally eat 2 meals a day and if I get fast food I usually get 2 meals out of it. I don’t think it’s unhealthy for you to only eat once a day. We are brainwashed to believe we need more than we do even though people have lived and thrived on less. Disease and accidents use to be what killed people now we are dying from our foods that causes diabetes and heart disease. Thank you for your video. Curious what you will do with the fish heads.
You can make Cullen Skunk (a traditional Scottish fish soup) with the fish heads. Just add some double or heavy cream and diced potatoes and onions to the broth. Don't forget to remove the gills from the fish before cooking it though and then strain the liquor. Serve it with some crusty bread. Delicious!
I bought an electric moped back in Jan 2022. It allows me to get to the only Dollar Tree in my area without having to take 2 buses each way. I went today and spent $23.75. Completely filled my backpack with food and one can of air freshener and a bottle of ajax dish soap. Im gonna start doing that like once a week from now on. I got tuna fish and diced tomatoes going in the slow cooker for lunches this week.
It took me a while but I cut out most meats and just use sardines and canned mackerel with beans, nuts seeds, and grains for protein. I did find a super-easy way to cook liver so I do buy frozen calf liver and have it once every couple of months. The canned fish makes a great sandwich spread or I use the mackerel in fish cakes with veggies grilled on my panini grill. The beans I get are in #10 cans from the LDS Mormons online. They only charge $3 shipping regardless of the size of your order. The beans are good for 30 years.
I love my Coffee i cut up onions and celery, bell peppers.. i had vsg weightloss surgery in 2015. i lost a 166 pounds.. kept it off post op 7 years!! trying to keep weight off .. age 64.. i was a 3X before today i am a petite 6-8. a 114 pounds.. sorry not related!!
I’ve been following for a while and I am trying to cut back on my spending. Not necessarily out of need as much as trying to achieve my savings goals. I’m the worst at grocery shopping. I buy more than I need and this year I am working on eating healthier. I enjoy cooking so going out to eat isn’t a real expense. Might grab something off the dollar menu once every few months. But, I know I can cut my spending at king Soopers drastically. 😂 for now, binge watching your videos! Keep up the amazing work and the positive attitude! So refreshing. 😊 And finally, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hahaha with the rorw rowr fish! You crack me up. What do you feed Rocky, just people food or sub with dog food? I have a little dog. I feed him an egg in morning and add some of our food to his dog food. If I have something he cannot eat, then I give him can dog with dry dog food. I do this so his system is used to people food encase we do have a shortage. I also, will make his dog food with ground meats, oats, rice, carrots, cheese and ground sweet potato. which I bake then slice and freeze in cup portions. He loves it.
You are a woman after my own heart. We do raise a lot of our own food but we glean the rest and forage. I spent $600 on food for the entire year in 2021. :) This is for a family of 6. It's just what we do and I know it's not realistic for everyone but we do what we do.
I am also similar to you in that I am a) a coffee addict and b ) I eat small portions. I think that especially in America the portions are way out of control.
I can relate so much to you on so many levels! I am in the veterinary industry and share your passion for animals, I have body image issues that are accompanied by eating issues. I am an introvert with severe social anxiety so I most definitely feel you there as well! You are amazing and I love your videos, thank you so much! I would love to see what you make with your ingredients sometime!

I’m so sorry about your sister. This comment just really hit me 😢
My coffee in the morning is the best part of my day. Have you ever shopped at Aldis? Their prices are really good. Quality is good too.
Same here. Coffee comes before food.
@@PrepperPrincess ☕️😁
I just spent more than $65 to have pizza delivered for my house tonight.. 😒 I need to get my crap together.
I love animals more than people!!!🥰
I don't blame you .I feel the same .
Love that you bought dry beans! Folks, be careful not to eat too many canned goods. Their sodium content is high, will increase your blood pressure.
You can buy low sodium canned goods and rinse off the veggies after opening them
I eat canned food sometimes, but most of my food is natural and fresh. Cook your own food is the best!
Thanks for being so transparent. You have the gift of teaching!!
I'm enjoying this video series. Thank you for taking the time to make them, they are appreciated!
I am a mom of a big family, 8 kids. We spend about 900 a month on food . Which comes out to about 22 $ a person a week. I truly believe we can all survive and be healthy on a lot less food then we think we can. Nice video. Thankyou.
That’s really good!
I usually cut and portion all meat before I place it in a freezer. It is more convient for future use.
Please if you need it take advantage of any food pantries local to you. There are senior only food delivery pantries available.
Yes please go to food pantry .I'm a single mom n I go 2 times a month.I don't get food benefits from government.tite budget too
Coffee is protective against Alzheimers so keep drinking!!
Great haul! Yes, people do not need to eat alot. It is a lesson I learned for myself. Losing my excess weight and finding that food lasts a long time.
Thanks for being real! I’d really love to see a video on how you make Rocky’s food. I used to make raw food for my cats, and would love to try a cooked option for our dogs.
That is not small amount of food in the fridge, especially in the freezer...
Food is getting more expensive here in New Jersey so I really appreciate you doing these videos.
I budget $100/mo for myself, but rarely spend it all. I usually end up spending around $60. Meal planning/prepping is key.
For me it's been straight beans, oatmeal, rice and frozen veggies since 2021. I can't with these food prices.
Superfoods for dogs: Kelp, kale, carrots, pumpkin, apples, quinoa, bananas, eggs, turkey, sweet potatoes, sardines, local honey, broccoli.
My cat is also quite the little beggar when it comes to food. I swear we feed her, but you wouldn't know it the way she fusses for snacks. 😂😂😂😂
I love your videos. I grew up with grandparents who made everything from scratch.
The fish heads cracked me up...lol! I would actually love to see the meals you make with them.
Wow there is somebody else who does this long term shopping at Winco's. It's a two hour roundtrip for me, but well worth it. I usually try to include other stops when I go shopping. Today I went to a $.99 store (although it's all $1.25 now) got a nice haul of things I needed other than food.
Wish I could eat like that but I’m diabetic and can’t eat carbs it makes my blood sugar go crazy
Glad you treat yourself to your beloved coffee
I love Coffee too but wow! It has really gone up.
I think you did a wonderful job.❤❤
I could never do this with a husband who eats big portions, a toddler who eats 5-6 times a day and myself. I spend more like $60-$90 a week with some bulk purchases at Costco throughout the year.
You can reduce the heat bill with all the beans. Don't forget that.
😆
Shes rich so🃏
Well done, I normally go to Sweden 4 times a year, looking forward to open borders again! A tip from a pro - open all packages before freezing, divide your chicken and other meat, into portion sizes. Put the meat into ziplock bags, that saves up a lot of space. (I have a small freezer too)😊
I make sure I get to the store by 7.30 a.m. to avoid crowds. It's always a relief to get home.
I don't drink or smoke but don't try to take my tea
The look he gave you when he was smelling the fish 🤣 he is so expressive! Good deals at the WinCo!
In New Zealand meat is around $20 /kg, a small frozen chicken is around $8, it's so expensive to live here.
OMAD (one meal a day) is actually EXTREMELY healthy!
If you want to feel like you're starving all the time sure
@@rexcarebear4701 I don’t feel like I’m starving 😂😂😂😂
Adding vegetables to soup is a great idea; it would be healthy too. I like the idea that you made three meals from a .50¢ can of soup.
Lemme know where to buy 50 cent cans of soup or vegs
I just spent 450.00 on dog food. I have a family of 4 and spend easily over 1000 a month on groceries tho I am stocked up for a year and a half for when this pops off
Great, still working on mine!
Girl, I hear you…. Every year, I get more and more introverted, too. And ‘Tetris with my freezer’… lol!!!!
Here in central Fl everything is expensive. We spend 150-200 a week for family of 3 a week
Keep up the good work 👏
You are amazing. I just ordered your book and would like to watch all of your videos :) keep it up and happy new year xx

If u don't have grow space, there is always recyclable plastic containers, or even 1 time but, grow bags for gardening
God has blessed us greatly.
And so thankful I found your channel.
Thank you so much for the advice.
Love videos like this...shows me how to shop where i can cut down on my food prices....Thanks for posting
Also, we don't know what kind of hormones beef has in it anymore, injected to get more muscle per cow. Well, I don't know
You should grow your own lettuce inside in mason jars (or whatever jars).
@Nana Papa I love this 💯🤗❤
Everything sounds yummy !!!
Enjoyed your video! Always looking for ways to save yet have good nutritional foods. Btw, my dog would kick his bowl around when he wanted food too. So cute
Coffee addicts unite! Thanks for another great video. xo
We feed our dog the same way. He’s factored into the meal planning. He typically has the same dinner we do. I enjoy your videos.
Very inspiring. I've spent $54.62 so far for January - and I should be good till the first week of February.
I just got back from grocery shopping. Prices are going crazy here in Quebec. You have to watch for specials and plan your meals accordingly.
Delicious!
Em... Cullen SKINK.. :)
lol! That was autocorrect!!
Good ole auto correct hey!i.. hahaha! :)
I thought there was no way all that would fit I that freezer. Well done.

Do not keep your potatoes in the refrigerator..... keep them in a cool dark spot ......

That's awesome!
I can relate so much to you on so many levels! I am in the veterinary industry and share your passion for animals, I have body image issues that are accompanied by eating issues.
