Hey Scrap👍I watched earlier and didn't leave a comment(I got called away) a great insight I to the real life horrors of those times and the men forced to endure it, cheers Scrap onto pt2✌️🥊
Thank you for the educational uploads Mr. Scrapbook Boxing. I was wondering how did you learn of the death matches? Was it in books? If you would be so kind as to recommend resources to help educate me on subjects like this would be sincerely appreciated sir.
Sam Langford not getting an opportunity for fight for the (most prestigous) World Heavyweight Title is one of the most saddest things to have ever happened in the Sport of Boxing. This Man would travel across the entire Amreican shores (with a smile on his face) and challenge any and everybody; anytime anyplace.. to his own detriment where one day, one punch changed his entire life. Wasn't the best decision maker, but he had a Family to take care of. This Sport, ultimatly, chewed him up and spat him out. For me, The Number 1 Greatest Fighter Of All Times: The Boston Tar Baby.. Mr Sam Langford.
So Called Black Fighters from the beginnings of Boxing had to witness and go through the worst of all Race and Nation. Slavery in the sport. Threatened, manipulated, bullied, humiliated, compromised...sometimes silenced.
Slavery outside of the Sport... Israelites.. The So Called Blacks (inparticular), Hispanic and Native Indians when carried over to the States, shipped in cargos, were feed the scraps and slops of those they were enslaved by. And weren't allowed to come out and cleanse themselves; urinating and defecating inside the same cargo they slept in. Women in the cargos had their monthly reds spreaded everywhere inside of it. They'd all die of illnesses.
Just started listening Brother

so, SCRAPBOOK those boxers were forced to kill people in order to survive, when really all they wanted was to be great fighters.
