    We can see those movements in baroque counterpoint motifs as well. This has been influential to has inspired countless jazz artists, including those from the bebop era. Your teachings are very concise and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

      Always enjoy your posts! One thing I will say only being able to experience Barry Harris through videos, he didn’t seem to be a big, mode guy. And I’m curious why more people don’t refer to the scale just as an F major scale starting on C. ? Thank you again for all you do.

      @@curiouscurious6558 It’s a common sense approach to call it an F scale starting on C. It’s also called the mixolydian mode as well as the dominant scale, so modal in a sense.

    Hey, quick question. You outline C7 notes while we are still on the Gm7, or lets say that C7 notes fall on the strong beats while still on a Gm7 chord. Is that to build tension? I often try to outline Gm7 notes while on that chord, then switch to C7 notes. Thanks

      by adding that extra note those rules dont apply. That's why Barry Harris is amazing.

      It's fine to to what you said. However, Barry used to say that II V means V so just use the V scale. Therefore outlining C7 thought the progression also works.
