Dairy cows are generally fed a 'ration' (at least in our country). This means that a mixture of corn, grass and barley silage is fed for example. Each have their own nutritional value and it increases the milk yield. The barley has a lot of protein in it and that creates milk.
What is the difference with different silage types? Like why barley silage over corn or grass? Thanks!
