- At the Apollo memorial for Lou Reed, his little sister, Merrill Weiner, aka "Bunny", offers a touching and poignant remembrance of her brother.
What a touching remembrance. I lost my brother on Sept. 27, 2013 to a rare form of cancer. Everything she speaks here is the same I feel for my own brother. My brother was very alive just like Lou was for her. Though I am the older sibling the feeling is still very much the same sentiment. It is like listening to myself speak. She did a terrific job because I know just how incredibly difficult it is to try and get a handle on the loss. I was just has close to my own "younger little brother" as she was to her "older brother." Wanting to hear his voice just one more time. God, I wish her the very best.
At 48 years old, I have started truly listening to Lou Reed. He always fascinated me and scared me. I wasn't sure I'd get it. Maybe at 15 I wouldn't have, but I do now. You're not erased, Mr. Reed. I'm from Long Island, too. And I drive listening to you and know there's a better island.
Im 60 and transformer and rock n roll animal have been in my record collection from the 70s .... rock n roll animal is a classic .. even as a teenager i got ..IT .. now im older .. coney island baby is a go to album ..
Thanks for posting. Very touching!
Beautiful
He touched a lot of lives and he'll definitely be missed but it was great hearing her memories because he kept that part of his life very private. It was really cool to hear she got to be on a lot of adventures with her big brother over the years, thanks for sharing this.
lovely lovely comments. Now we have a glimpse into Lou the brother and Lou the son.
This was poetic perfection.
Thank you Lou! And thank 2 whom ever uploaded this more peace of mind now!
