Or, you can just do it the right way. That's the objective here, isn't it? If the child needs a referral for sedation or GA to get it done properly then that's what's required. There are no easy short cuts to the proper way and the earlier a practitioner realizes this, the better.
How is this not "the right way"?
It is a tried and tested technique - the cavity is sealed from any future decay, as sugars cannot reach it. The caries therefore does not progress, and the tooth is kept strong by the addition of a stainless steel crown.
It is far less traumatic for the patient, even if they could otherwise cope with a conventional restoration, as there is no need for anaesthesia/ no risk of pain, and no need to keep their mouth open for lots of water and drilling.
What kierahurry said in addition, studies show the Hall Crown technique to be more successful than conventional methods... Also, taking the risk of general sedation out of the scanario. Sounds like you need to do a bit of research graham.
This IS the right way.
