Re 1:45, I believe it Philo of Alexandria, centuries before Augustine, who first articulated the doctrine that the Platonic Forms were Ideas in the Logos or Mind of God; Plotinus likewise held that the Ideas were not external to Nous (Divine Intellect).

I didn't even understand the ice cube thing that much, so don't feel bad

Attacking "lack of certainty" with zero argument besides derision doesn't do anything to support making a conscious decision to be certain about that which one can never prove, even to oneself. I'll take modern thinking, that's right!

I love Peter Kreeft. But, the one thing I dislike is that we're now on video 3, and very little of Plato is being talked about. Kreeft gave a primer on Plato and now we go to Aristotle, Plotinus, Augustine, and I'm sure Aquinas is next. The lecture is titled, "Plato." I want all of these vids to live up to their promise because I want to delve deeply into Plato. I will study the others after an in depth Plato lecture. ObjectiveBob, you need to change the title of these lectures to correspond with the figure being talked about. This is not a Plato lecture. Perhaps video four will return to Plato.

The book is called "The Platonic Tradition", therefore the contents of the book will be about, well, the platonic tradition, not just Plato alone.

37:00 mind blown. "Jesus in a sermon is boring. Jesus in the Bible is interesting...people are more interesting than ideas." Augustine moves beyond Plato to the importance of people. Where did we go wrong in the West given such a rich philosophical tradition?
