- The second generation of the G-Wagon is finally here. This is the first time since 1979 that we have a new generation of the G-series. Under the hood you will find a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 416 HP & mated a 9-speed automatic. The G550's exterior is wider and longer but still retains it's classic look. On the inside you will find an update not on in materials but also technology. Is the the 2019 Mercedes Benz G550 the ultimate SUV worth it or overpriced?

Is really my only way of describing this. It's like everything you could possibly want in a vehicle, but formulated in a way that's useless to literally every potential buyer. If I was looking for an offroader, I'd get a wrangler or 4runner (or probably a SxS or quad). If I was looking for a tow machine I'd get a much more capable pickup or much more comfortable crossover depending on my towing needs. If I was looking for a luxury vehicle, I would just get literally whatever crossover from benz lineup that's actually comfy on the road and drives like a street vehicle. (That has all the same amenities and then some)
But for some reason, this thing sells good enough to justify not only it's high price tag, but its production in general. I honestly can not justify this thing in any meaningful way, yet it's still a flagship along side the maybach.
But with RAM of all companies making luxury vehicles better than anything Cadillac (or any gm brand) can produce and is going head to head with lincoln and the germans, while Hyundai, a notorious economy car brand, is now redefining the price brackets of luxury vehicles overall since the creation of genesis and the palisade, is nicer than most luxury 3 row crossovers. It's just a crazy time for automotive world and its amazing who's actually making the innovations. And that's ignoring the electric revolution on the horizon being led by tesla and soon to be all electric volvo.

I have a buddy who once took his G550 off roading at Rausch Creek, PA . People were coming up to him and say jokingly "Hey, you shouldnt be here you should be at the mall"

What you did not talk about or may not have noticed, but the little plastic part behind the rear wheels and in front of the rest bumper that sticks out. It is designed to comply with laws that the wheels should not stick out past the body.
Also, that to lock and unlock the car, you need to use the key.
Kardashians definitely need this one while cruising along la Hollywood lol
They should literally make this the s- class of suvs, with ALL the creature comforts and tech the s-class has.

Shoot, I would! Lol. I'd slap some all-terrain or mud tires on it and go have fun. Worried about scratches? Have it wrapped with Xpel clear wrap and you're good to go

No ventilated cheap looking seats, cheap looking interior, cheap hand rests, cheap shift paddles, noisy. NOT 2019, more like slightly updated 1970's. So many newer higher tech, modern and functional vehicles now. Slapping a few tech add-on's is no excuse for such an outdated old box and and crazy price not to mention reliability.

Whats dumb is the 2001 model looks way to much the same as the 2018 over 18 years no difference u can easily fool someone with a old one and think its new until u see the interior then youll know is old

@@albertwesker2283 I believe it does now in 2019 they (Mercedes) were trying to come out with a less expensive entry-level version so they made the 12 inch screen in front of the driver optional and made things like ventilated seats optional - they have since changed and all of that is standard equipment - all of these you tubers were reviewing one of the first that came out And took what they could get from Mercedes
No panoramic sun roof at this price point?? Seats look basic, too. At this price point, I’d rather get a Range Rover Autobiography-plush seats, more luxurious and has a panoramic sun roof

Sometimes you wonder what this designers were thinking, 160 k , no vent. Seats , no touch screen but let’s throw in a few celebrities in it and it will sell. Great truck but so way overpriced
