Our septic is 50yrs old. It is now considered outsode code. No one can work on it because of that. Spending thousands of dollars for a new system isnt an option so I'm learning from YT how to handle problems when they come up.
Right now after rain...i mean off and on ALL DAY rain for almost 2 weeks off and on with maybe a day inbetween has caused my septic to back up. We had no problems during hurricane Harvey a few yrs ago when most of my city flooded and had 9 people staying in my 2 bathroom home.
But in the past year ive noticed air bubbles from the toilet when we shower ir run the washer. We disconnected the washer from the drainpipe and set it to water my flowers.
That helped alittle. I had husband on the roof checking the vents. They appear clear.
We just got pumped in June. Guy said tank was overfilled and i need to pump more often.
And now we have toilets that dont flush and tank that is overflowing when the tank cleanout cap is removed.
My guess is my outlet pipe is clogged AND i have a clogged main pipe from my house.
I'm thinking i will dig up the distribution box being i probably need to divert to a couple new leach field rows and check for roots. We have a lot of trees. I suspect some crushed pipes etc. Prob easier to just dig new trenches and place new pipe. Then i will add a cleanout off the main inlet pipe close to my house. And snaking my line from the house out.
I am also thinking risers would be wise being my tank is very old and may need work over time and digging those up is no fun at all.

Are distribution boxes only on leach field systems or both leach field and sprinkler systems?
