As CBS in Sacremento is celebrating 70 years on the air, they have a commercial full of show highlights, one of the clips is with Bo and Bob Hope together. Bo was 10 years old. My son Bo was severly disabled, born with fractures that healed before he was born, doctors told us our baby wouldn't ever have a birthday. Osteogenisis Imperfecta, caused Bo to fracture with little or no trauma. We decided to wait five years and then maybe try for another baby. We had 2 more. I always kept life fun for Bo and neverr made him feel like a burden. As he grew up, he wanted to go to school, and went to Modesto High School. One day it was raining and Bo was under a canopy, he didn't see the two steps an the end of the walkway and crashed. I thought we were going to say goodbye that aweful day. As the Vice Principal knelt on the wet pavement covered in blood, Bo asked her "Don't call my Mom, just put me back into my wheelchair. She'll never let me come back to school." That was Fri 2-18-94, the very next Wed. Bo was ready to go home. We placed him on plywood and carried him out. I quit all activities but Bo and slowly the fractures healed, both arms then the legs. Bo wanted to go back to Mo Hi after Spring Break. But his leg refractured, it was begining to be a real problem as summer vacation started. So we went to see Orthopedic, Dr. Les Konkin, he sent Bo for some little plastic casts, that I could velcro closed, like a clamshell on his legs. It was a hard June and July and I could see the sadness that the pain was causeing. My usually upbeat 15 year old son needed some kind of carrot..... So I asked if he'd like to go to see his Godmother, my sister Mary lives in Norwalk, 350 miles from us. While there, we went to NBC in Burbank to see if we could get tickets to see the taping of the Tonight Show, Bo loved Jay Leno and watched the show every night. You get tickets at Guest Relations, tickets were all given out for that weeks show and if we wanted, we could do the NBC Guided Tour. Well Bo makes friends wherever we go and a stage hand named Irve heckled my kid while sitting in a shoeshine booth. As Irve heard Bo tell his disapointment over not getting tickets to see Jay, he smiled and said "Wait right here." and left us. Irve came back with a stack of tickets, how many and what days do you want.... Bo was now a friend of the show and was able to see the show 4 diferent times. Jay introduced Bo to the audience and photos were taken. Bo got to see the show when Garth was there in 96, I drove the 350 miles not knowing if we could see the show, we were seated at the last minute. We decided to take Bo to Las Vegas for his 21 Birthday, so we called Irve and took Bo to the TShow, he actually scared Richard Simmons. Jay called when Bo had pnumonia, promising him a spot in the audience anytime he want to see the show. The angels came for him on a Sunday morning one month after his 23 birthday. When we got home some calls had to be made and I called NBC. Jay and Irve called the next day. Jay made my son feel so special. Helped me keep a little boy happy as he grew into an adult. I miss my son, in Sept, it'll be 23 years since we lost him. THANK YOU JAY! I'll never forget.

I was part of the Florida hurricanes and yes, the lineman are great, long hours, focused and got most of our power back within a couple of days. We tried to take really good care of them when they was in the area.

He had a rough couple of years, plus more health problems since, and looks it.

@ what about Florida hurricanes? They know how to deal with hurricanes. Look at this fall with the two storms, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina knew what they were doing. North Carolina nd Roy Cooper? Didn't know what they were doing.
