That isn't how this works pal
The thing is angel investing is super risky but it can pay off big if you truly believe in the idea and the person behind it. It’s basically what shark tank is
No. An angel is a person who gives money without needing you to succeed. They give you the money to be charitable and to mentor an upcoming business. An investor is what shark tank is about. They invest in your company expecting a greater return.
@@barbovwithplanter4265 angel investors do expect a return but they don't take advantage of you to do it.
@@dog_city true but angels arent putting pressure on you because most times an angel will aproach you
@@barbovwithplanter4265 yeah, that's why this is called Angel investor
@@razkanaz yeah. i dont need your confirmation.
just make sure when u open the van door the "Dog grooming" sign doesn't turn into "Dogging".
lmao
It can’t… it can only be ‘Doging’
@@7gators7fan7 dogg on one door rooming on the second, slide the door and bam dogging
@@7gators7fan7 well, itd make dog ging because of the g of grooming
dogging can also be working with cranes
"If you want to buy it back, it'll cost you $1 million"
"No thanks, I'd rather grow my business"
"OK, I'll just sell it to someone else"
It doesn't become a majority share, so it's more a mild nuisance than else
It makes zero difference to the business owner
Ok? Doesn't matter who owns it, they have no say in the company and he didn't want to buy it then so, what does that matter.
Ok..?
@@rayyanshaikh5591 if you go public now there is 1 guy who controls 20%
“Hey I’m starting a dog grooming business”
“That’s so cool my little guy needs a bath”
“See, I love that. But I’d REALLY love 10k”
Wouldn’t we all buddy.
Man he comes with some very unique ideas and that actually make sense 😆
...You are aware he didnt invent the concept of angel investors, correct? He's basically just explaining the premise of Shark Tank
@@conmattang8492 I believe he's talking about the "dog grooming" idea
@@thelonelystaples idk if u r refering me when u say "Americans", but I'm from India..
@@thelonelystaples I always find it funny how us Europeans just take every single chance to shit on America. Chill will you? The Americans aren't going to hurt you.
@@thelonelystaples America very much has pet groomers. We also have mobile pet salons. Not sure why you're dogging on Americans for stuff we share.
He is the type of person who tries to bribe a rich person with a penny
You should also make a mobile human grooming business :) (this is not what you think this is just for grooming hair)
You mean human hair styling business 😂😂
Human grooming business? Wtf
Worst wording ever my man
Mobile barber shop. Barber shop, not grooming. Bad wording
That's already a thing. They call it the presidential limo.
The story still makes sense if you replace dog with child. Especially the van part…
Seems like a system that benefits those that start off with large amounts of money could be easily exploited by those people to grow their own wealth exponentially at the expense of others’ labour?
Shhhh, it's all about hard work and being smart. Part of being smart is not being poor, duh
Stop making sense or we'll get in trouble
How can you find the right person or idea to invest in?
I’m have a lot of ideas that need investors
@@edj2002 what are your ideas friend
It's more the right idea than the right person. The person your borrowing money from is the one who needs you to be successful. They just need the money to help you.
Debt is so awesome. Love owing someone else money and having them holding over it my head. Feels great
Absolutely especially if the company I owe money could just go bankrupt at all time

How are you worth 5 mil with only five vans. Btw nice vid.
This is a hypothetical.
That’s very realistic. Most small businesses have a 10x revenue multiplier, so their yearly revenue is probably around $500K, which is very feasible with 5 vans
@@FirstNameLastName-gq3uv k thanks
@@mojoo215 i know I was wondering if that was possible in the real world
So what's the difference between the 20% and the 5% one? If he only have the 20% he didn't get the yearly profit?
Correct!
00:00 - Angel Investor
Useful.
Whats up with the revenue part … if he bought 20% then he’s entitled to 20% of the revenue, right ? Then why the 5%?
Is that the reason behind the symbolization of investors as angels in AdVenture Capitalist?
This helps make sense
Although I do wonder how much money each year that 5% could actually be
Idk if you know this but he also owns 20 percent of the shares, which will also increase in value when the business is successful. The 5 percent annual revenue share is more of a bonus.
@@maydieway1895 yeah but the 20% is money still invested which he can't spend without selling that share or bits of it (unless I'm wrong in which do tell me)
So I'm wondering how much that 5% over time actually made him
Here’s a simple calculation for your reference. Let’s say that the company netted $1mil/year (meaning profit after expenses). Business valuation is usually a multiplier of annual earnings, likely 3X annual earnings (this varies by industry). In this example let’s say the company is worth $3mil, plus equipment, so let’s say another $500k of assets, making the company worth $3.5 mil. The 5% of 1mil a year would be $50k/year.
@@ISawSomethingOnTheInternet eyyy that's what I was looking for, thanks
Wow someone failed math class
Was it you?
Lmao looks like you did
20% share of the company = $1m with a $5m company. He didn't even add that 5% annual income to the total. Please retake math class.
thanks this really helps!!
Half the comments on here feel they were written without watching the video or reading the title
To easy💪
Hi
Idk why but I first thought that he said just grooming business and I was only thinking “wait isn’t that like a crime”
Bet
It would be dumb to sell it for just $1 mil at that point from a business perspective
But if it's a friend, and they ask nicely I would
How does the person ensure that he gets his 5 % . I mean if the grooming person makes say 10000 dollars, he can always say that he made 5000 dollars so that he has to give out less.
Win win
00:00 -
Gromming?
I don’t know if I’m missing something but 5% of 5 million is 100k
20% of the company and 5% of the yearly revenue
Lol a grooming van

My god these investment channels makes me wanna yeet myself out a window
It's not financial advice it's just explaining what angel investing is, numb nuts
Yeah no
Now where do I find these angel investors? XD
Found yet?
@@Psycho_Nexus Nope! 😂😂😂 hard to find dudes willing to dump money on me 😂
Do you know if they invest in forex??.. I found a holy grail that hedges out swap to make 5-10% monthly guaranteed, but I don't have capital 😭🥲....and I can't leave of 5% of $20-$100 🥲
What dog grooming business with 5 vans is worth 5 million dollars???
Businesses valuation isn't the same as yearly profits.
If you don't have the supplies to open something like a dog grooming business then your not ready. Work for someone else till you get what you need. If nobody will hire you or you can't keep the job maybe your in the wrong business.
Almost every single business and company is in debt for at least the first year. A dog grooming business is just an example. You also probably won't make $5 million in your first year for a dog grooming business. It's just a filler word to explain angel investing in the short. Don't take every part so literally.
Too easy
5% of 5,000,000 isn't 1,000,000
But he has a 20% share of the business ownership, the valuation of the business is 5,000,000 hence why he has a 1,000,000 share in it.
The 5% is the share of yearly revenue the investor gets.
Bozo
he gets 5% of annual revenue but he has a fifth of the company
I heard dog grooming wrong 😟
How tf does 5% of 5 million = 1 million?????
20% of the business that he traded represents 5mil. The 5% was the revenue share he offered in addition
Mobile dogs need grooming.
You have 5 mobile vans? And you have a net worth of about 5 million? What kinda bull is that
So you gon give me 10k?
“So let’s make a dumb downed version of shark tank for utube shorts”
