    The highlight for me was the safety sandals and the 2 drivers side brackets. The a/c should be finished just in time for winter :D

    Love the shirt! “Intercooler” is the word of the day and I think the passenger skid plate is there to protect the cab lift cylinder and mount... they probably should have put one in to protect the steering arm. Where did you source that condenser? That location is where I am going to put mine eventually.

      So as long as they are not powered on at the time and I don’t leave them submerged for more than a few minutes. They should survive and if they don’t... well I’ll get the opportunity to build a brushless setup. :)

  • @rronmar
    @rronmar 5 лет назад +2

    Looking at it a second time, The fans typically suck air thru the condenser assembly so yours is sucking air opposite the typical airflow and against any ram air coming in thru the gtill? That might be a problem on the highway or when the engine fan kicks on...

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  5 лет назад +2

      rronmar son of a.... looking at the direction of rotation arrow on the fan, you are correct. Glad I have a ton of room to flip it around.

    Oh my Chad, love listening, so real life - two RH, oh yes done before. So, can I buy your other one? I need to do the exact same thing you just did!! Curious, enough room for elbow AC line fitting? Thank you for sharing ("idiot with tools"), hope to see you at the FMTV Roundup and we can swap idiot stories!

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  3 года назад +1

      I’ll be at the FMTV roundup. And yes there is quite a bit of room for the coolant lines. I’m planning on changing this design though. I want pusher fans rather than these that pull air.

    Mine is mounted to the back of the cab. It's loud AF. I'm not sure why it was mounted there or if something is wrong with it that's causing it to vibrate. Does your's vibrate a lot? I wonder how much work it is to relocate it. It's so loud I think it's broken but it still blows cold air.

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  Год назад

      If it ain’t broke… :) mine is quiet enough you can’t hear it over the engine.

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  4 года назад +1

      Yep already switched them after another commenter pointed that out. The fan set the military uses are pusher fans that are installed in front of the condenser, but these fans are puller fans so that was my mistake.

  • @SimonBelgium

    Won't that cause issues when water gets in there? I think some of the LMTVs have a switch on the dash to turn off fans for fording, but fans like these also would need to be waterproof. You're probably not planning to drive this thing through a river, but then again, you might, because you can (could).

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  3 года назад

      On these fans. Yes. They are supposed to be ip47 but turns out they are ip46. So I’ll be swapping this condenser with another one. Probably in may of 2021

    Great video as always. I'm thinking about cutting slits into my skid plate and welding some sought of a screen behind the slit so that the condenser is protected and able to breath easier. What are your plans to protect the condenser?

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  5 лет назад +1

      Manuel Serrano I think there should be enough positive air pressure on the front of the truck it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. If I get into a situation where I need more cooling I’ll look more into it.
