- In this episode of Iron City Garage Bill gets to work on truck number 5 of 6 from the Montana load. That truck being the 1949 GMC 250. This truck was pretty solid coming off the trailer. is the mechanic always such a joy to be around?
If I were a potential buyer and saw this video of “Bill” working on this truck, and then him grinding the starter endlessly like that, and then Bill NOT FIXING IT, you’d get an earful the first time you started it for me. Watching him endlessly NOT fix the starter made this painful to watch.

I was glad to see the guy pick up the front of truck and wash away all the grease and old groceries under the truck. Made it cleaner for who works on it next. NICE!!!
When you were working on the starter, you put on the screen that you were working on a stuck clutch. The starter has a bendix, not a clutch. Love the old school mechanic work, smoking on a cigarette while working on the fuel system!
what you think going to happen? you can throw a lite cig in 5 gallon gas it wouldn't do anything
@@funtyes1970 a gas can does not have much in the way if oxygen in it but gas in an open environment is a lot more flammable. Diesel on the other hand is very hard to ignite with a cigarette.

Love those GMC sixes. Cubic inch size is stamped on block pad just behind where distributor goes into block. If your engine is original, probably is a 228. Also like the 9 foot box, I have a couple of 1950 3800 Chevys, one with a 9 foot box and one with duals and a small wrecker body.

Pull the starter any pry on the fly wheel,You are just killing the starter. Or put it in gear and tow it.
