The world has been especially crazy as of late so peace, love and hugs to those caught in the crossfire. Stuff like this makes digital truck videos seem trivial, but perhaps a little escapism is not such a bad thing. More SnowRunner reviews and 'best of' round-ups on the way, homescones.
There’s a few rigs here I agree with, namely the 6900TS, but I’d like to nominate the WesternStar 49x, International Paystar 5600 and the Pacific P512 as solid trucks in their own respective ways
I don't know if this idea is too specific, but it would be interesting to see which 3-4 trucks to bring, if you were limited to only those, for each map. Would make a cool challenge and help co-op people who wants to divide specific jobs between them. Love the content man!
If you know anyone who has the phase 1 DLC while not having it yourself you can nab the AWD upgrade for the GMC if you are in their session as long as they are the host IIRC.
For me, the White Western Star 4964 is my one of my favourites. Its not the best, i'll admit but it can handle (almost) every terrain, it is versatile and it looks good. It is definitly a recommended choise for every map (yes, even Imandra).
No idea how this truck didn't make the list. I only discovered it recently but with the right tires, and all the upgrades it's quickly become one of my favorite trucks. I have yet to try it in deep snow, in deep mud with heavy loads it struggles a bit, but I've only managed to get it stuck with extremely heavy loads. How the hell did this truck not make it on this list?
@@westernspy561 use them both, but try and get all the upgrades for them. Most trucks in this game only really start to shine when you completely unlock their potential with the upgrades available to them.
I really like the fleetstar you get when you first get the garage, I used mine with only awd and diff lockers to recover all drowned vehicles and get the kodiak out, it's a brilliant all rounder I'd say
I think a big part of why the Loadstar retained its relevance ties into its utility and how fun it is to drive. It’s one of the few scouts with extended functionality, given that it can also moonlight as a repair truck or a crane truck. And if I’m not mistaken, I think the Loadstar is also still the fastest scout in the game. Combine this with its short, squat body and bouncy suspension and you have a truck that’s pretty stable, yet still exciting to drive. Plus it just has a great aesthetic. IMO its still one of the best-looking trucks in the game.
As an Ukrainian, I am glad, that you noticed that there is not just russian trucks in the game. Just for understanding - Azov is Ukrainian city, and designs of some trucks in game is truly ours. Like and subscribe)
I remember learning early on in my SnowRunner RUclips 'career' about the distinction. Had some pretty heated comments about it actually. Crazy to see what's going on between both countries.
The Freightliner M91 is a great tractor for pulling trailers, especially saddle mounted trailers. It's small size can be an advantage and it's got decent fuel efficiency. The White Western Star is also probably the best early game truck. Powerful, tough and highly versatile. I use mine as a recovery vehicle and it's never failed.
Oh the Pacific P16, how I love/hate that truck. Probably one of the coolest looking trucks in the game, but it's so outclassed by everything else. I wish they gave it some love.
Only AWD and Pacific P16 will be fine, very powerfull but lacks good handling but all terrain vehicles are known to have bad handling but mine went through deep mud close to the trailer store of Zimnegorsk carrying long logs. The best american truck is CAT 745G by a mile,it's a supreme beast no matter where you are with super tires and powerfull engine combined with good stability and special gearbox. CAT is so good i can go through a lot of terrain in Taymyr carrying medium logs just with L+diff lock. The best american scout is Loadstar 1700.
Thanks for this video. I think it’s very timely and tasteful. A lot of people may think certain thoughts and finding ways to enjoy your hobbies with everything going on in the world is a nice distraction from the ugliness out there.
Great wrap-up, with most of which I agree. 👍 Twinsteer is by far my favorite truck in the game. I usually have at least 6, and usually take 2 everywhere. 8 cargo slots, no trailers, and a tag-along rescue vehicle. I use 2, with 4 L04f's on board to open new maps. I drop the 🍞s off around the map as mini service stations. Can't remember the last time I ran out of fuel. I also like the big Derry. It's great for making big hauls through tight terrain. I used it extensively in Alaska and Yukon. And, of course, the LS 1700 is still one of my favorite scouts. That truck has saved my bacon more times than I can count. ❤️
the plethera of mods that enable trailers and some useful logging addons to the 6900 make the truck an absolute beast of a truck and a rather fun challenge to take on tighter trails and roads with the 6900 + large drawbar trailer.
I'd swap out the Derry and the HX520 for the WWS and P512 (or the Fleetstar). Also, the CATs cannot do the crane+2 slot+trailer, but the P512, Fleetstar and HX520 can. The P512 is very underrated The Fleetstar is better than the MH9500, the GMC is a gas guzzler under load, unstable with the raised and for early players doesn't have AWD. Although the MH has the party trick of using larger tires without raised, the Fleetstar also gets most of it's upgrades on Black River. I also find both Derrys underpowered, at least with the high range gearbox.
If it is only possible to use large tires without rasing is better to use standard suspension (GMC and Varon Grad). Of course, GMC without AWD is worst, but in normal mode it is worth getting it at the beginning with a scout. Michigan with Tayga and GMC (AWD) is very easy, too easy.
P512 is a great, versatile Heavy truck. Only the 200l tank volume sucks a bit The PayStar5070 is also a great start truck, with high susp. MUDtires and crane+2 slot+trailer
The Intl. Loadstar is a beast! I just love it's addon variety. And of courseze Cat 745 is really the day saving machine with the fuel addon, but beware of deep water.
little late to the party, but I higly recommend not sleeping on the International Transtar. What it lacks in diff, awd and suspension it makes up for torque and low centre of gravity. It is also not thirsty on gas at all so its handy in Michigan and Alaska on hard modes to save on precious fuel.
Hello Ben! Great video, I liked your opinion, but in place of Derry Longhorn, I put the International Paystar 5600TS that even having a smaller fuel tank and an equal consumption of the CAT 770G. It has advantages (Type: 3 Slot Platform + Mini Crane + Trailer). And not to mention other combos that this truck has.. (And it has curtains too). But that's in my opinion.. But I liked the video! Hugs Ben! And take care.
The 5600TS is brilliant, it's featured a few times before in 'best of' videos and there's a small chance I overlooked it lol. Definitely a thirsty beast though. Hugs!
International load star 1700. Engine upgrade + lift kit and that thing is a little gremlin. Grab up a improved trans and you are set for awhile. Scout wise. It’s lack of mud tire use is definitely understood. Thing would be unstoppable with them. It’s one minor set back. Love that little demon lol. Takes a beating, keeps on ticking.
I'd like to point out the Longhorn has a turning circle that is second to none. Making it ideal for situations where you don't have much room to get your trailer through.
I believe the Fleetstar needs a good hunk-a-love, beautiful truck, and while, yes, laborious to upgrade, a very fun and strong truck for Michigan/early-mid game.
I don't understand why alot of people don't like the white western star I love it I've only gotten stuck 2 times where I couldn't get out even in imandra it's great
While I never got much of a chance to try out the Derry 4520 before they gave it a new engine, the moment I started using it I loved it. While it certainly doesn't have the best power-to-weight ratio, it does have plenty of grunt for most loads, and the ability to turn far better than a surprising amount of off-road and heavy-duty trucks, as well as some scouts, comes in especially handy at times. It handles logging easily and having a low and high saddle I feel makes it a decent bit more versatile than other equally heavy trucks.
It really is an enjoyable truck, and shows you can have fun without needing the top tier offerings. Especially if you have been playing for two years, it is nice to mix it up!
i used the Derry Longhorn after the buff and really enjoyed it, after previously hating it but i tried to use it again just a day or two ago and it completely feels like they re-nerfed it.
you can get upgrades without DLC if you join an mp game and find it in someone elses world. i dont have year 2, yet i have the raised suspension for the transtar :D
King of low saddle+crane (best for completing the game) BM17. Low nose isn't as disturbing as many would say, the saddle positioned closer to the cab than any other truck, so the rear axles get more grip, ergo more fuel efficient, cuz you wont need to use as many awd. In high low you get loads of torque, so lack of diff isn't problem. P12 long logs+log crane, always on diff. Best for logging if you don't mind the slow speed. Best trucks: bm, p12, twinsteer, loadstar, cat
I do like the ford much for doing those "oh I dropped a single cargo anywhere"-Missions: 1 Slot+Crane+Auto-winch - Its opposite RU-Truck is the TUZ16 with same config :)
The most powerfull are ANK and Paystar but very unstable and spend a lot. One of the best is White Western Star because it's versatile and better than Fleetstar and stable. That CAT you have in the video i have to find because i believe that truck is a serious beast.
Derry Longhorn 4520 has always been a beast. Neither the Ziks or the Kolobs can fit chains. Also the steering rear axle means that it handles that 8 slot trailer like nobody's business. The thing turns on a dime, puts down good power and it can fit chains. It may seem trivial, until you have to haul some ungodly amount of material up an icy hill to a gold mine in the Yukon.
Your channel is really cool, I really like this game too and I have Snow Runner videos on my channel too! Congratulations on your videos they are great!
Hi Ben - Very happy to see the Kodiak C70 appear on your list. I love this truck because it's rather nimble in many tricky situations, and its ground clearance is stunning, especially with the raised suspension. I also want to give the Derry Longhorn 3194 a shout-out. Despite only having 2 add-ons (Saddle high & low), it's a truck that has proven to be robust and dependable for hauling larger semi-trailers. I normally use the P16 with these semi-trailers, but found the 3194 to be more 'grippy' in certain spots thanks to its always-on AWD and diff lock. Great overview, as always with your SnowRunner content. Cheers! //Rick
Personally I believe the 49x is one of the best, maybe because ya can kick in high and it'll pull whatever cargo have through whatever mud hole is ahead of ya
White western star is my favorite lol went outta my way to get all the upgrades xD it just looks so good, not the most capable but super stable, like so stable I use it as a scout since the scouts are lack luster and it just powers thru anything, it might take 30 minutes to get thru that mud but you'll do it and without using the wench! XD
I Play on Hard the most time and use the GMC 9500, Brigadier and WesternX49 coz im off AWD most time(to save gas) and thay got a decent torque power and that comes in handy if I use the high-gearbox and swap in the H gear, so I can fly Dirt and some Swampy roads(have to watch for the suspension or I kill them). Well its not easy for new players to drive that way coz u need to know how to use the engine, but once u get the feel for it u can do crazy there like howling 3 loads medium loggs at the same time with the WesternX49 at once(truck addon+2 trailers, one is winched) and it gos fine. I let some ppl Online dump folded seeing me do stuff like that.😂 Good video great content as ever👍
Sounds like you are a SnowRunner pro, good job. I think it's easy to just get into the habit of AWD on and full speed ahead, which is definitely not always necessary and less efficient on fuel. I really should play more hard mode. Cheers for watching!
Imo the gmc 9500 performs better w/ stock suspension, it's wheel well still accepts the big tire option..the lower center of gravity is needed it tips to much without 4wd*
Yep. I prefer the MH9500 with stock suspension and the biggest tires it can equip. It performs great in that configuration. I used it on most of the maps.
Longhorn is absolutely great for pulling heavy cargos. Only thing I hate about it is it's speed. However like Azov, this beast is slow and steady. Also the rear wheel steer is good for making smaller turns at some points.
First of all great vid as usual and I was waiting for this list because as you said the russian trucks are better in the game giving the american truck an "underrated and forgettable " feeling. I almost agree on everything except for some trucks: first of all White Western Star and Fleetstar must have been on the list I've used them on every map in the game from Michigan to Maine and they've never let me down and so I would replace the kodiak by the Fleetstar and the Jimmy by the White. I would have chose the Freightliner 114SD over the two Cats because I find it better offroad than them and also less fuel angry when under load. As for the other trucks they are in fact really good american trucks if you know their strengh and weakness. PS: I would have put also Paystar 5070 at the same place with the Derry longhorn (like an honorable mention) because this trucks can be really good if you know how to drive them as one is very fuel angry, quite unstable but very capable and the other quite underpowered but still very capable. Have a nice day.
After seeing the starter GMC in that list i imagen alot of ppl would question WHY? Even if it was added just becouse its free the Fleetstar is sitting right there at the Garage and u dont need any DLC to make it useful. The GMC is not better then the Fleetstar even after fully upgraded. Using addon for fuel or repair sure but cargo hauling there are far better options for that.
Fleetstar is handy, but in my opinion the GMC is much more stable making it more pleasant to use. The trick is to fit 47" tires without raised suspension.
I never liked the Loadstar that much. Drinks a ton of fuel, gets stuck super easily. The F-750 is pretty much better in every way. Better offroad and more fuel efficient. All Loadstar really has going for it is it can tow scout trailers, and who tows cargo with a scout trailer? As for a fuel trailer I rather just winch it behind a Tatarian, and I usually use the Yar for the radar. I won't deny the Loadstar is a fan favourite, but for me it's just a meh truck. I haven't tested it yet but I've heard the drop axles might actually be useful. Supposedly they help on soft ice by redistributing weight and taking some pressure off the front axles. I haven't been in Amur or Kola in a bit and Alaska doesn't have soft ice, so I haven't been able to put it to the test. But I have heard it. I'd say, based on the trucks I use most, my top 10 america trucks would be - F-750 - GMC Brigadier - Western Star Twin-Steer - CAT 6T681 - Western Star 49X - CAT forklift - Chevy Apache - Forester - CAT 745C - Derry Longhorn 4520 The Apache has been slowly creeping it's way up the list for me. When used the right way, it's kinda like a American Yar. It has problems, it can't hold a gear in auto to save to save it's life for example. But offroad, man stick thing in medium low (not Low+) and you'll be amazed what this truck can just walk it's way though. Plus it has good stability, is pretty small and narrow so it fits places, lots of ground clearance for going over rocks. As long as you can accept going slow, it can actually get you a lot of places. It's a lot more capable then I initially gave it credit for after buying it. Forklift is kinda a similar story. Take the useless boom arm off it and run it around as a scout, and this thing will go anywhere. Like I go into Lake Covd, and I thank this thing off the road and it just crawls. Some spots in Lake Kovd I've even gotten the mighty Tatarin stuck. And I love the Tatarin, but I'm just saying so far I have not found a single mud hole or snow drift that has gotten the forklift stuck. You do have to stay clear of basically any bit of water at all, and like the Apache it's not fast, it's not going to run you from one end of the map to the other in 2 minutes flat. But for what it does do, it's pretty damn good at it. 745C and Forester only make my list because of short logs. Honestly I hate driving them, on PS4 (with controller not a wheel) the steering is still bugged on them. So if you go to turn right for example, they'll jolt left before turning right. Issue doesn't seem to happen on wheel, but I don't have a wheel. These things are undrivable on controller in Auto gear. At best I can manage high gear, and even then it's torture to drive them and I've found myself in the ditch more then once even in high. But hey, when you are moving 3 loads of logs by yourself at one time, you can't really complain to much. CT681 and 49X are my short log trucks. 49X has a mid bumper winch point making it a great secondary truck. And honestly the two does the job pretty dang well together. Derry 45 has become probably my main long log truck with the P12 second and P16 third.
@@octoslut I've been playing this game since before Taymir was even finished (before Rift was even added). Like I said, I just never liked the Loadstar much.
Yeah, it's a bit fuel hungry but the advantage it gets is having what amounts to a medium truck engine in a vehicle with a third that weight. Once you grab the raised suspension, and toss some solid off-road tires onto the chassis; the thing won't flinch at all but the worst mud in the game. It also isn't locked behind Lake Kovd, which for me doing maps in order. EG I cleared all upgrades, and got every truck before moving on. Meant by the time I had the 750, I kinda just was like: "Neat, but I've got other vehicles that do this better." Especially with the MISERABLE stock power-to-weight ratio, which requires exploring a hard as nails map to fix.
Nice video, mostly agree with you, just some differences: Instead of CAT680 I prefer Paystar 5070: high Suspension, MUDtires and Crane+bed+trailer HX520 is a great truck to get small things done fast Dont like the Kodiak much, themissing third axle makes it lift front axle when drawing Semis ANK is great due to Mud Tires and Perma AWD+DiffLock but has tiny tank and is tippy as well, so I dont like so much TwinSteer is the best US-option to get 4 loads anywhere, with all the upgrades its just a beast! CAT745 definetely one of the best haulers and with Tank addon great recovery and utility truck! I also Prefer P12 instead of P16 due to its AWD and great ground clearance. I could have a more powerfull engine, but its great for hauling heavy trailers through harsh terrain. Loadstar is a great Scout and together with YAR the best, that can pull scout trailers as the prototype GMC is iconic and with all the upgrades from later maps it can easily mess with Fleetstar, WhiteWestern and even CAT and Royal The Derry is also a great hauler, it has a great turning angle and with chain tires its the best truck for Alaska in my eyes (with super heavy trailer) In Addition I add to my personal Top10: Ford f750 as a great Scout and small cargo truck with autonomous winch(!), PayStar5600TS which is thirsty as well but a great offroader with high load capa and biggest fuel tank in game (!) P512 as "special mention" because its cool and versitile - even if the small tank and lack of awd suck ;-)
Some solid insight and suggestions, the 5600TS is great so maybe I should have gone with it. And the 512 although I find the lack of AWD in SnowRunner is particularly noticeable. P12 I always find underwhelming compared to the Vorons and Taygas but obviously for America/Canada it's worth a look as you said. Edit: The F 750 is excellent, I cheated a bit by mentioning it in the video. At least people will know to give it a try.
@@ATribeCalledCars true, ne non AWD is an issue - but its quite fast, versatile and capable for light offroading and long distance hauls (e.g. Wisconsin) like crane+bed+4slot trailer or crane+saddle
I really really wanted that pacific to be good, but its only downfall for me is its huge weight and lack of power to compensate for it. I came to a dead stop on the road going up a slight hill in Michigan with logs on the back. There was no mud and no issue with traction. The engine just didn't have the power to turn the wheels. I was very sad about that. But maybe it will get an engine upgrade one day like the Derry did.
@@UKeXtremeMedia The other killer is that upgraded, it has a hilariously bad issue about tipping, especially when you use it for the intended role of logging. That thing will tip over if you sneeze in the same county. It's kinda a -1 sword IMO, since early on it's a beast of a truck that'll help conquer some challenges, but it very very quickly becomes outmoded.
Maybe a tiny bit of added anti-wheelie stability when pulling heavy cargo but then a third row usually does this sufficiently. Maybe the ability to lift it up could prove handy on a really niche mogul situation? If it was powered it would make sense!
@@ATribeCalledCars In my various attempts to mod the trucks to my own tastes adding power to the drop axles usually helps as its no longer just dead ground resistance. That said the drop axles are usually not effected by tire changes so they remain street tires. Once or twice they have helped me get out of a high center situation. If there is a situation in which a stock non modded drop axle is useful it must as you said extremely niche.
@@ATribeCalledCars In this game, it's only for keeping a vehicle from being high centered. In reality, lowered, it offers an increased load capacity. Raised it provides less friciton and drag, and saves fuel. Not sure if it does in this game, but would be impressed if it did.
Mine are the ank mk 38, the international paystar 5600 Ts the western star twinsteer a really good cargo/mission truck if I use it right and the white western star
what about the pacific p12? you didn't like that truck? I think it's very underrated...once you get it out of the stock engine and transmission, it's pretty strong, although it likes to tip
What about International Paystar 5600 TS? 3 slot sideboard bead+ crane+ trailer. Fairly big mud tyres. Only problem is small fuel tank and high consumption.
That only problem becomes quite a big problem when you can barely haul anything anywhere without running out of fuel with it, not that it’s a bad truck but there are 10 American ones I can think of that are better than it
Partially. Year 2 is not worth it. The whole of phase 5 is barely a half of a normal map size, 2 maps of 1x1km (20-30 hours play). Phase 6 is ok 2 map of 2x2km (~60-70h play). I am not sure about Tatras if they're included, check for it on the page. Year 1 is worth it. A lot of maps, vehicles and tasks.
I think it is but I base it on hours played. So long as it lasts longer than a movie I'm usually pretty happy - games are great value for money relative to a lot of things. At least, that's how I see it.
F750 and 5600TS really deserve in the list. 745C is not only an all-terrain fuel carrier and logger, but also is a good deep mud and thin ice helper. In my opinion, CT680, HX520, plus GMC8000, 114SD which are not in your list, I think they are just average. CT681, 49X and 3194, I can't accept any dead axle on my truck, so P16 is out too. If MH9500 can be on the list, F2070A should also be. Because it doesn't need player to fight with the deep snow and annoying stones in Kola to find its AWD upgrade, and is free too. So this is my American-only fleet (active members): ================ Ford F750 - Scout, service, light towing; International Loadstar 1700 - Scout, radar, scout trailer missions; International Paystar 5070 - Crane+sideboard, for roads that not fit 5600TS; International Paystar 5070 - Crane+low saddle, low saddle semi trailer missions; International Paystar 5600TS - Crane+long sideboard+long flatbed(4 slot), primary transporter; International Paystar 5600TS - Long tank+tanker trailer, refill tanker trailers along main route; International Paystar 5600TS - Heavy crane+long flatbed(4 slot), cabin and rescue mission; International Paystar 5600TS - Log crane+long log front frame+long log rear frame trailer; International Paystar 5600TS - Backup unit; Westernstar 6900TS - 4-slot-single-way transport; Derry Longhorn 4520 - High saddle tractor; Caterpillar 745C (x5)- Tanker, rough road helper and halfway fuel supplier; Aramatsu Forester - Log crane+medium log; Aramatsu Forester - Log crane+short log. ================ Other members: ANK MK38 - Fun truck; ANK MK38 Civilian - Fun truck; Chevrolet CK1500 - Fun truck; Pacific P12 - To be decided, hopping to have engine upgrade like 4520; Freightliner M916A1 - Retired from high saddle tractor; International Fleetstar F2070A - Tanker, garrisons in a factory with a generator trailer; White Westernstar 4964 - Tanker, garrisons in a factory with a generator trailer; Chevrolet C70 - Tanker, garrisons in a factory with a generator trailer.
@@ATribeCalledCars The biggest weak point for 5600TS is fuel consume and tiny fuel tank. To solve this problem, my solution is just simple, put 745C tankers and tank trailers along 5600TS's way.
The only thing that gives Eastern trucks any advantage is the mud tires. The devs act like mud tires on American trucks is unheard of around here, I dunno.
i would have thrown the K70, derry longhorn and cat out of this list and replaced them with the F750, White Western Star and Freightliner 114SD, The 7 others on this list have a permanent spot in my garage
Hey matey. Great vids, love you blah blah... whatevs. Anyways, I'm thinking a lot -- TOO much -- about how I could enforce some rules on myself to make the game more immersive; realistic and challenging, without it being frustrating... like Hard Mode. Any ideas ? Maybe do a video about your thoughts. Cheers.
Hey bud. Thanks for the love. I think most people enforce region-specific trucks, manual loading, no recover and maybe no cheesing like buying fuel trailers to use then sell back at full price. You could also try a steering wheel although it's a mixed bag. The lack of manual gears hampers the experience somewhat. Hopefully that helps!
@@ATribeCalledCars Cheers. Take that onboard. Shame there isn't a simple mod that 1. Charges for fuel and repairs and 2. Charges a rental fee for trailers. I already have the "No Recovery" mod. The other immersion mods out there, are a bit OTT for my taste. It would be a simple case of 2 or 3 adjustments to gameplay but make a massive difference to Normal gameplay.
Hi Ben, please do a review of White Western Star 4964, I've only recently tried it, and it's probably better than ALL the trucks you have listed here. (With full upgrades, and Off Road Gearbox). It's an amazing truck, that has taken first place in my inventory, even surpassing the Vorons and Tayga. (Although it's nowhere near as good in really sticky mud or deep snow)
@@ATribeCalledCars please do, even if you don't do a video on it, make sure to check it out. The truck is an absolute joy to drive, as long as you don't overload it. (I've actually done long logs on it, and for everything except heavy mud and deep rivers it actually outperforms the Azov trucks, and the P16) I was stunned, either this thing got a HUGE buff or it's been that way since the beginning and people just didn't notice. I've always dismissed the American trucks because of their lack of mud tires and suspension (apart from the Ank83) but now I'm gonna go back and check all of them (or at least the ones that have raised suspensions)
Hey Tiyo, thanks for messaging. I've made some news videos about phase 7 and one with some Phase 8 stuff. Phase 7 is in Tennessee and has you building up a race circuit apparently, maybe even some PvP. Could be interesting...
Paystar 5070 is a great truck, the first "real offroader" in the game for most players :D its greatest strength is definetely its versatility thats why I used it a damn lot!
I have ended up Using the CAT CT-681 Most of the time, even in Russia. I had high Hopes for the Azov 5319, but It cant tow a trailer with a bed and crane and its painfully slow with the best engine... and the fuel capacity is abysmal. That is the best I can do with my play style, the Heavy class has been disappointing, some of them require purchasing a season pass to get critical add-ons, I believe the Twin steer cant get Awd without a certain $15 season pass. I don't mind purchasing the season pass but I also don't wan't to stop what i'm doing to skip ahead for a new map right now
Hello Ben, this list is awesome. I agree with you 100%, Loadie McLoad Face is my absolute favorite, I scouted the Amur region in its’ entirety using only this truck. It took a while LOL, but I was stubborn and Loadie refused to give up. Cheers!!! 🤘😬🤘
No paystar?? I love that truck. Tippy, but man will it haul some stuff. You just have to be careful. I skipped Michigan and made it all the way thru Alaska once using that truck almost entirely
I tried to avoid this because a large part of the playerbase can't buy it, but it's an epic truck. It's been in at least one of my best trucks videos before.
Quite surprised to see no Western White Star there :O Do you feel like they maybe nerfed the lugging tugger a bit too much? Great video btw, love your stuff! :)
The White Star was great until it hit snow, and then it was pretty much useless. Chained tires on icy roads were a bonus, but outside of that I found myself repeatedly benching the truck. It performed especially poorly on the first Russia map. The mud there is more heinous than Michigan apparently.
I think it's a good truck but seems to lose potency outside of the US. But nostalgia is a powerful motivator and it can definitely still work if you're patient! Looks cool too.

There’s a few rigs here I agree with, namely the 6900TS, but I’d like to nominate the WesternStar 49x, International Paystar 5600 and the Pacific P512 as solid trucks in their own respective ways

For me, the White Western Star 4964 is my one of my favourites. Its not the best, i'll admit but it can handle (almost) every terrain, it is versatile and it looks good. It is definitly a recommended choise for every map (yes, even Imandra).
lean!!!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜
No idea how this truck didn't make the list. I only discovered it recently but with the right tires, and all the upgrades it's quickly become one of my favorite trucks. I have yet to try it in deep snow, in deep mud with heavy loads it struggles a bit, but I've only managed to get it stuck with extremely heavy loads. How the hell did this truck not make it on this list?
Is it better than the beginner fleetstar, i just unlocked 4964 but I'm wondering if i should play it instead of the fleetstar?
@@westernspy561Both are capable trucks, but 4964 is better. I suggest that you use them both for different tasks.
I agree. I still use the Fleetstar regularly, as there isn't much that it can't handle, and has rescued many trucks for me.
Im a simple guy. Speed =fun
As an Ukrainian, I am glad, that you noticed that there is not just russian trucks in the game. Just for understanding - Azov is Ukrainian city, and designs of some trucks in game is truly ours.

I remember learning early on in my SnowRunner RUclips 'career' about the distinction. Had some pretty heated comments about it actually. Crazy to see what's going on between both countries.
@@ATribeCalledCars well, for some Eastern European countries, peace was never an option. And what is even more terrible, never will be.
@@juleswinnfield5764 Sad to hear.
Which trucks are definitely Ukrainian? I like to avoid the Russian ones.
Greetings from Poland.
The axle on the Cat is called a lift axle. It’s used to distribute the weight more evenly on the real life counterpart.
The p16 has saved me so many times as a recovery truck. Trying to haul logs with the p12 and getting stuck on inclines, the p16 to the rescue
It's a beast! I enjoy driving it a lot.
It definitely needs a slight buff.
Yea, ANK MK38 helped me huge time at the start, amazing truck. Incredible rescuer and usefull for carrying loads thru heavy mud
If its maxes out there is nothing it can't do
Thanks for this video. I think it’s very timely and tasteful. A lot of people may think certain thoughts and finding ways to enjoy your hobbies with everything going on in the world is a nice distraction from the ugliness out there.
Nice of you to say. I think we all need something away from our troubles to lighten the load. Even if it's just a truck game.
Kodiak is the jack of all trades, if you drive carefully you can use it in a lot of places. Probably on of the most versatile trucks in the game
You're not wrong, it's versatile to the max.
Great wrap-up, with most of which I agree. 👍
Twinsteer is by far my favorite truck in the game.
The P512 is very underrated
The Fleetstar is better than the MH9500, the GMC is a gas guzzler under load, unstable with the raised and for early players doesn't have AWD.
Only the 200l tank volume sucks a bit
The PayStar5070 is also a great start truck, with high susp. MUDtires and crane+2 slot+trailer
The Intl. Loadstar is a beast! I just love it's addon variety. And of courseze Cat 745 is really the day saving machine with the fuel addon, but beware of deep water.
These videos make my life so much better
little late to the party, but I higly recommend not sleeping on the International Transtar. What it lacks in diff, awd and suspension it makes up for torque and low centre of gravity. It is also not thirsty on gas at all so its handy in Michigan and Alaska on hard modes to save on precious fuel.
It's a great truck, no disagreement from me!
Hugs!
@@ATribeCalledCars yes this got me through Michigan in my first ever Snowrunner experience
There is one US truck that never ever disappoint and always gets the job done.....yes you guessed it, its the Fleetstar.
The internationals from the starting game are my favourites and the white greenish one
These are fine trucks :)
I'd like to point out the Longhorn has a turning circle that is second to none. Making it ideal for situations where you don't have much room to get your trailer through.
thats why ive been using it a lot in Maine
I believe the Fleetstar needs a good hunk-a-love, beautiful truck, and while, yes, laborious to upgrade, a very fun and strong truck for Michigan/early-mid game.
The Fleetstar really is a solid steed. I remember using it a lot.
I don't understand why alot of people don't like the white western star I love it I've only gotten stuck 2 times where I couldn't get out even in imandra it's great
Oh yeah I mentioned it on purpose because I want people to try it, great truck. But personally I use other stuff.
@@ATribeCalledCars what's your number one favorite vehicle to drive
My Favorite Truck in the Game is the Chevy Kodiak C70
nice vid
Thank you, glad there are some C70 fans.
With the same engine? Oh no, hope that's not the case.
you can get upgrades without DLC if you join an mp game and find it in someone elses world. i dont have year 2, yet i have the raised suspension for the transtar :D
Best trucks: bm, p12, twinsteer, loadstar, cat
hate to break it to you but the bm17 is a british truck
Now i play in phase 6 and Derry really become good boy, even without 4wd he drive without problem
10) Cat ST 680 / 681
9) Internationa HS520
8) Codiak C70
7) ANK MK38 Civilian
6) Western Star 6900 TwinSteer
5) Caterpillar 745C
4) Pacific P16
3) International Loadstar 1700 (Anhänger!)
2) GMC MH9500
1) Derry Longhorn 4520 and 3194
The fleetstar and Ford clt are great aswell although the Ford less so
I do like the ford much for doing those "oh I dropped a single cargo anywhere"-Missions: 1 Slot+Crane+Auto-winch - Its opposite RU-Truck is the TUZ16 with same config :)
Same
The most powerfull are ANK and Paystar but very unstable and spend a lot.
One of the best is White Western Star because it's versatile and better than Fleetstar and stable.
That CAT you have in the video i have to find because i believe that truck is a serious beast.
Any truck that can dubstep is the one for me. And the lights on the top or so cool
Lights are essential!
I agree with exception of P16. I prefer the P12
It can do a whole lot more and is more agile.
Me too :D I even prefer P512 instead
Little late to this video, I agree in most of them, but for me the Fleetstar F2070A should also be on the list.
It is a good truck, definitely was considered.
Fleetstar is better than the MH9500 in my opinion and should have been on the list. It gets the job done where others fail.
Absolutely, that extra steering capability should not be underestimated!
Recently started playing snowrunner a few days ago what a game It is 👌
Great content keep up the great videos🤙
Cheers Jordan, welcome to the SnowRunner clan!
Your channel is really cool, I really like this game too and I have Snow Runner videos on my channel too! Congratulations on your videos they are great!
ive been playing for 3 days just love this game. Just got the ankh civilian and love it.
Cheers! //Rick
This is great that u made this vid. I'm always stuck on which trucks to use in all these us maps
It's definitely tough sometimes with so many more in the game. I'll keep doing region specific stuff and other themes so stay tuned.
Personally I believe the 49x is one of the best, maybe because ya can kick in high and it'll pull whatever cargo have through whatever mud hole is ahead of ya
Definitely a beast of a truck.
@@ATribeCalledCars indeed it is. Partly why I love the Western Stars in this game
I let some ppl Online dump folded seeing me do stuff like that.😂
Good video great content as ever👍
Sounds like you are a SnowRunner pro, good job. I think it's easy to just get into the habit of AWD on and full speed ahead, which is definitely not always necessary and less efficient on fuel. I really should play more hard mode. Cheers for watching!
I do like my russian trucks, but i still have a soft spot in my heart for the fleetstar
The Fleety is good, totally get it.
I love it so so much
the fleetstar is a special truck to me aswell, I cleared allmoast whole Michigan Region with it
Imo the gmc 9500 performs better w/ stock suspension, it's wheel well still accepts the big tire option..the lower center of gravity is needed it tips to much without 4wd*
Good point, if you can fit the biggest wheels without maximising the ride height it can be beneficial for stability. Just watch out for some rocks...
Yep. I prefer the MH9500 with stock suspension and the biggest tires it can equip. It performs great in that configuration. I used it on most of the maps.
International Paystar 5600TS.
White Western Star from Smithville Dam.
The GOAT
Longhorn is absolutely great for pulling heavy cargos.
Only thing I hate about it is it's speed.
However like Azov, this beast is slow and steady. Also the rear wheel steer is good for making smaller turns at some points.
Paystar 5070 ~ cheap, available from the beggining, capable, looking good, nice engine sound
I love it how he even brought back the little picture in the corner for his round up lol 😂
Definitely for special occasions only!
Hahahaha love that Ben 🤣
F750 is my favorite vehicle overall
Tis a beast of a scout!
Oh my god it is happening! Ben is reviewing trucks*.
*I’m using reviewing generously.
Yes mini reviews-ish. Proper ones incoming, I'm feeling more creative again. I hate to release videos I'm unhappy with.
I'd say, based on the trucks I use most, my top 10 america trucks would be
- F-750
- GMC Brigadier
- Western Star Twin-Steer
- CAT 6T681
- Western Star 49X
- CAT forklift
- Chevy Apache
- Forester
- CAT 745C
- Derry Longhorn 4520
The Apache has been slowly creeping it's way up the list for me.
It’s power creep, before the ford it was one of the best scouts
Nice video, mostly agree with you, just some differences:
Instead of CAT680 I prefer Paystar 5070: high Suspension, MUDtires and Crane+bed+trailer
HX520 is a great truck to get small things done fast
Dont like the Kodiak much, themissing third axle makes it lift front axle when drawing Semis
ANK is great due to Mud Tires and Perma AWD+DiffLock but has tiny tank and is tippy as well, so I dont like so much
TwinSteer is the best US-option to get 4 loads anywhere, with all the upgrades its just a beast!
CAT745 definetely one of the best haulers and with Tank addon great recovery and utility truck!
I also Prefer P12 instead of P16 due to its AWD and great ground clearance. I could have a more powerfull engine, but its great for hauling heavy trailers through harsh terrain.
Loadstar is a great Scout and together with YAR the best, that can pull scout trailers as the prototype
GMC is iconic and with all the upgrades from later maps it can easily mess with Fleetstar, WhiteWestern and even CAT and Royal
The Derry is also a great hauler, it has a great turning angle and with chain tires its the best truck for Alaska in my eyes (with super heavy trailer)
In Addition I add to my personal Top10:
Ford f750 as a great Scout and small cargo truck with autonomous winch(!),
PayStar5600TS which is thirsty as well but a great offroader with high load capa and biggest fuel tank in game (!)
P512 as "special mention" because its cool and versitile - even if the small tank and lack of awd suck ;-)
I think the Pacific P12 should have had a spot on this list
@@UKeXtremeMedia Yeah it's unfortunate considering how amazing it is in real life.
Hands down best truck in game when upgraded with max engine, transmission and ohd 1 tires
The Mk 38 makes the best scouting truck and trailer mover.
It really is a good scout.
Lmfao when you flipped the WS 6900 and lost the cargo reminded me of many times I've done the same
I don't know why I keep trying to use it, my driving does not suit it.
I would love to know what purpose if any do the drop axles have in SnowRunner.
The Paystar 5600 TS is a huge miss in this video. Probably the best all-round NA truck. Fun video, though.
It's featured so much I left it on the bench but if you can cope with the fuel economy it is great.
more like tipstar
Great video Ben. To be honest the tatra trucks (phase 5 not the dual pack) have been kinda overlooked could you do a review on them?
Thank you and yes, it's been on the cards for a while. Hopefully I get to it soon.
I love the tatra Phoenix and force 👍
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks for watching :)
what about the pacific p12?
you didn't like that truck? I think it's very underrated...once you get it out of the stock engine and transmission, it's pretty strong, although it likes to tip
It's a solid truck but I've just always felt it was missing something. I also don't like the P16 much despite it looking so cool!
What about International Paystar 5600 TS? 3 slot sideboard bead+ crane+ trailer. Fairly big mud tyres. Only problem is small fuel tank and high consumption.
That only problem becomes quite a big problem when you can barely haul anything anywhere without running out of fuel with it, not that it’s a bad truck but there are 10 American ones I can think of that are better than it
It could be in the top 10 and has featured before but you're right about fuel economy. Chuck on some cargo and the range can be quite worrying!
@@ATribeCalledCars that's why I stack 5-6 cargo slots on the truck clamped with crane and attach fuel trailer as a additional fuel tank :P
I’m thinking about buying the season passes is it worth it?
Very much so
Even just for the trucks it’s worth it
Thanks for everyone’s input whenever I have enough or whenever they go on sale again I’ll definitely buy them
#1 gotta be the western star, shout out to my boy
The OG.
So this is my American-only fleet (active members):
================
Ford F750 - Scout, service, light towing;

I mentioned the F 750 because of this, great truck. And I forgot about the 5600TS on this occasion but it is good and featured before.
Mud tyres would help even the playing field sometimes, good point.
Isn't the CAT ct681 and the international HX520 a part of a dlc?
A free one, yeah, if I recall correctly.
@@ATribeCalledCars I have checked, it's part of the anniversary DLC, it's free
@@Leclercrisper Perfect, enjoy.
i'm real excited for the new Rezvani coming in dlc8.
I feel like the Pacific P512 never gets any love
Maybe I should use it more.
Are we just going to ignore the floating cargo at 3:41?
Some of my earlier videos feature floating cargo, good times.
i would have thrown the K70, derry longhorn and cat out of this list and replaced them with the F750, White Western Star and Freightliner 114SD, The 7 others on this list have a permanent spot in my garage
I can see the logic, the F 750 is great and so are the other two. 5600TS also, but I think it's featured a few times on the channel.
@@ATribeCalledCars actually forgot about the 5600 TS there, heck. that's also a good truck
White Western Star 4964 ??
It's good, you're right!
@@ATribeCalledCars
Cheers. Take that onboard.
Shame there isn't a simple mod that
1. Charges for fuel and repairs and
Hey Varan. I can check it out, that truck is a SnowRunner veteran and definitely goes a long way in the game.
Anyone know how can i find the red 4 door truck? I did the recovery and truck dissappear right after
You picked the GMC over the Fleetstar? Really?
I mean neither is top tier, comes down to personal preference between them given they are easy to get :)
prefer the P12 and the White Star
Hello, how are you, I greet you from Argentina.
What do you know about the next phase 7 and 8, what will be new, are there changes in the game?
Hey Tiyo, thanks for messaging. I've made some news videos about phase 7 and one with some Phase 8 stuff. Phase 7 is in Tennessee and has you building up a race circuit apparently, maybe even some PvP. Could be interesting...
Just curious what was it about the 49x that you didnt like?
Nothing in particular, it's decent. But it's a paid truck and I think you can get similar performance elsewhere without spending extra money.
You skipped the Paystar 5070. That is a very capable, versatile and affordable truck.
Yes to be fair it could have made the list. But I tried to inject some variety.
I don't mind purchasing the season pass but I also don't wan't to stop what i'm doing to skip ahead for a new map right now
You missed the Navistar
Hello Ben, this list is awesome. I agree with you 100%, Loadie McLoad Face is my absolute favorite, I scouted the Amur region in its’ entirety using only this truck. It took a while LOL, but I was stubborn and Loadie refused to give up. Cheers!!!
🤘😬🤘
That's commitment, Amur is probably the worst map for scouts but it's a cool truck so why the hell not.
I feel bad for the white westernstar, literally the best starter truck and not even in the top 10.
It got a mention so technically it was if you don't need or already use the 745C. :)
No word on the derry longhorn's ridiculous low transmission mount, or drive shaft, whatever it is.
Gets hung up quite a bit
Seems to chug along okay for me although I don't push it too far off the beaten track!
C70 is a beast
It is indeed, Bread :)
How about a review of the best mods...I can't remember when you did your last one.
I should, it's been a while and I've been using some cool stuff recently. I think the last video was the Rng3r / Iceberg one, if you saw that.
No paystar?? I love that truck. Tippy, but man will it haul some stuff. You just have to be careful. I skipped Michigan and made it all the way thru Alaska once using that truck almost entirely
where is navistar its the best i just love him
I tried to avoid this because a large part of the playerbase can't buy it, but it's an epic truck. It's been in at least one of my best trucks videos before.
@@ATribeCalledCars when I was buying it I was not sure if I like him but I just instantly like that crazy truck
You clearly forgot the Navistar
I tried to avoid DLC but yeah it's epic. Been in a few of my lists before if you've been watching for a while. I did most of Lake Kovd with it.
Quite surprised to see no Western White Star there :O
Do you feel like they maybe nerfed the lugging tugger a bit too much?
Great video btw, love your stuff! :)
The White Star was great until it hit snow, and then it was pretty much useless. Chained tires on icy roads were a bonus, but outside of that I found myself repeatedly benching the truck. It performed especially poorly on the first Russia map. The mud there is more heinous than Michigan apparently.
@@Zorbino88 fair point mate - though its stability and pulling power made it a worthy addition to a fleet..
I think it's a good truck but seems to lose potency outside of the US. But nostalgia is a powerful motivator and it can definitely still work if you're patient! Looks cool too.
The caterpillars flip TOO EASY
