If you want to make the line it's absolutely worth buying a tenor pad. You'll be able to practice much more effectively and therefore have a better audition which will increase your chance of making the line. Practice fundamentals found in our video lessons and the audition material that your instructor gives you. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
This is actually really helpful keep on making vids. PLEASE. At my school we dont have a percussion instructor so we dont get the proper help we need so basically videos like these help me out alot.
Great to hear! That's exactly what we're here for so I'm glad you're taking advantage of the resources and taking the time to learn from them. Be sure to visit the website for even more lessons and sheet music. And thanks for watching and leaving a comment :-)
When doing the loop around the third set how many times is he hitting each drum? from right to left is it 3, 2, 3, 2, 2,3,1? that might make zero since but i'm trying to visualize and i don't have a drum currently
Yeah! Room 113! So many good memories and good drummers have come through that room!

Great audio. Able to hear him clearly and the drums didn't distort.
This was very helpful. I introduced it to my instructor, and he greatly appreciated the new warmup for me. Thanks so much!
This was extremely helpful thank you so much
Couldn't agree more! Many beats have been played in that room.
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment :-)
Just got me a tenner pad, and Will be working on this exercise.
This man did 3 videos and dipped. We need more bruh
Fr this shit is super helpful
Yes - make sure you're relaxing and utilizing the rebound of the drum head. It helps out a lot!
Thats just beautiful
you make it look so easy. are you bouncing your stick on the
doubles?
amazing video! thank you Matt.. how to notate those patterns..?
I had to watch how to do it 20 times also the quads for my middle school only have 4 so I'll just practice the seven one
did he play for Scotland County High School in NC
Yes
Were you letting the stick bounce on the doubles or were you doubling them yourself?
It looks like he let the stick bounce back. As you play with faster tempos you'll have to let the stick bounce back
He's using the rebound, not relying on rebound. He's also not "wristing it out by himself" because it'll hurt his hand
Where to buy that kind of stick
What's that wrap around the tenors called
I don't feel good enough to own that sweater now.
Yea Matty P!
No! Grab the sheet music on the website and start working it up :-)

little late but its 33311222SS11122 then 44422111SS22211 (drum number, not times hitting each drum)
what is the black cover that says dynasti
Drumma Teen It's just a wrap, I have one but I don't know what anyone else would call them
Feared Sp00n I know it’s like a year late but we call them skirts or covers
To make this a Blue Devil warm up just add rim clicks every 7 notes. 😋 Sorry, I had to.
I don't even get the first one LOL can anybody help I can visualize
3331122 4442233 with straight sticking, no doubles or anything. Think of it as constant flow of notes instead of being metered in any way.
Pristine
... i quit
To hell with that
Sounds like Lady Gaga's Telephone.
obviously
