Columbia Pictures Television was founded on 6th May 1974 and replaced Screen Gems Television a few months later. TriStar Pictures launched their television division in March 1986, and the two merged to form Columbia TriStar Television in February 1994. The companies were gone respectively in 1999 and 2001 (former revived in 2015). Sony Pictures Television replaced Columbia/Tristar Television on 16th September 2002, though the joint-venture continued to appear on television in 2003.
