I love Hao and Hanbin's chemistry so much🤩when I first saw these 2 in the center of boys planet's theme song, I didn't know how close they were or would be. 😊
(I started writing here and ended up with a whole damn essay lmao 😭Sorry, got carried away, but I just needed to put all these thoughts somewhere.) The thing with Haobin is that they want fans to ship them, and they deliver the fanservice willingly. We know it wasn't WakeOne setting them up and telling them to act like this, because this started back in Boys Planet, when they flirted and were affectionate with each other in front of the cameras really naturally, and were joined at the hip until the very end of the show. They got close and created a bond right before our eyes, so it didn't look forced at all. The way they acted during BP made it seem like, even though they got close and became friends with many trainees there, they treated each other differently from everyone else.
Then the group was formed and Hanbin started with the whole soulmate agenda (saying "the other half of my soul", "my eternal other half" publicly multiple times lol). In the beginning of ZB1, W1 seemed to be separating them and not showing us their moments together, almost like they wanted to hide how close they were? Only recently it seems they've allowed them to express themselves freely in public and show their bond more, maybe because they realized that the consequences are a win-win: fans enjoy their chemistry and might think they're together and like it, while most people will dismiss it as fanservice and/or as them being close friends.
And at the end of the day, we (zerose) know from Hao's and Hanbin's past that, most probably, neither of them is st8. Sooo we have two (probably) queer people who are undoubtedly extremely close, have a real bond that is not forced for the cameras, and that do and say a bunch of things to get fans to ship them. They might be playing it up for fanservice, going overboard with the couple stuff to get fans going crazy for them as a duo, and that's fine too. What matters to me is that they're doing it of their own accord: they want to share these things with us, they like being shipped, they're comfortable with it, and they're not faking being close. It's great, really, because we will never know ~the truth~, and that's what keeps them safe and allows them to be like this in public. It sucks that, if they're really a couple, they can't actually come out and say it publicly if they want to. Ît sucks that the world is still homophobic af and we, queer people, still have to hide in many situations. But I'm grateful that Haobin can express themselves freely and be happy together no matter what they are to each other. In a fandom with so many solo stans and even akgaes, I'm glad so many of us appreciate ZB1 as a whole and the members' bonds with each other. What ZB1 have is special and I'm thankful we get to witness it.

I agree so much. After debut, we almost didn't have any interaction of them on camera. I think Wake one realized that many fans started following ZB1 thanks to Haobin and how much value they actually have together and let them be themselves again. (you know, they even placed in top charts of kpop fanfics or even outside of kpop fanfics very high for 2023, I checked statistics for fun).
