Gorgeous phone the Honor 90 love that colour too speaking about Honor I really miss Huawei phones absolutely loved my P30 Pro back in the day was an absolute beast of a camera phone Great review Adam 👍
I am now on Huawey P30 as I wathc this and cannot find an alternative that would match this wonderfull device 😁 Was thinki g about Samsung a54 but its size is bigger then P30 with cover on. This Honor looks very nice, thinking maybe should get it insted of Samsung a54. Also have a Samsung A52, also great phone. So a fan of Huawey and Samsung at the moment, but with no google play support from Huawey they are off my list unfortunately.
I had an Honor 8 around 2015? It was a beautiful phone and I've never had another Android phone that iPhone users would see and ask "That's such a cool phone! Is it the new iPhone?". I believe Honor is now a separate brand from Huawei and so could be sold in US? On the one you reviewed the display and minimal bezels look really nice.
***Edit: **6:32** the Honor 90 has one single downward firing speaker, not stereo speakrs. I misspoke while recording. Sorry for any confusion, but sadly its just one speaker. It does gave good sound quality and decent volume though.***
Yeah I saw in a previous review that the whole the single bottom firing speaker is decent, it was easy to block off almost all sound when putting your finger over it if held in landscape for instance watching a video or playing a game. It's a good phone overall and Honor is in a good place with their offerings as of late, I just don't see much incentive as a US user to sidestep a Pixel 7A or 7 with full US carrier bands support, even the more obscure bands these international phones don't have to get something else. The label International or Global in the context of these Chinese phones usually just means Europe and sometimes as far as Canada to the West but never the US unfortunately so officially we in the US only get the usual Samsung, Pixels and Motorola. Thanks as always for the video Adam, always happy to watch all your videos.
@@ArthurZakaryan23 thankfully this one actually works with 5G in the U.S., which helps. It's just hard to get one here. No one is going to go shopping on Amazon and grab on to throw a SIM card in over here. Another factor for why I call it a Pixel 7 rival is the limited markets for Pixel phones. The 7 is only in 17 countries, which is really pretty terrible. Honor is doing a better job getting their phones into more markets, especially Asia. Thanks forwarding and for a thoughtful comment.
@@TechOdyssey Yeah I agree with you with the Pixel needing to expand to more international markets, they won't be much of a Samsung rival or be taken seriously as one until they are available in more countries, hopefully they'll get better with that with each new generation of phone.
Samsung is always going to have a foothold in many markets. Most importantly, phones manufactured in mainland China will always have the CCP in some way shape or form attached to them. As a result, you really have to be careful what you're getting yourself into. Samsung is a high-end brand that does not come with these kind of impediments. After all, the brand honor is a sub-brand of Huawei.
Thanks for mentioning the preaplied screen protector, after watching so many reviews and unboxings for this phone , you're the only one to do it. Saved me some bucks , also since the phone just came out there's not that many options for screen protectors, in Spain at least. I ordered a hydrogel protector from Amazon but I'm gonna cancel that and get one when better ones come on the market. Thanks.
183 grams is extremely nice in the pocket. Lightweight, fullscreen slabs don't get enough credit. 205 grams is my cutoff and even that is a noticeable weight to carry around.
I think that is a dang good looking phone. I don't really need wireless charging. I have a couple of phones that are capable of doing it but I haven't bothered with it yet.
Great review, great phone. Very similar to the Realme 11 Pro+ which is cheaper, but comes with a slower chipset. My favorite phone in this price segment though is the new Oneplus Nord 3.
Great review as always sir! My one question is where can I purchase this as you can't purchase it directly from honor at least from what I can tell. And I don't see a second hand seller unless it's going to magically pop up on Amazon. Do you know anything? I'm in the US that's why I'm asking?
This phone has a very elegant design and a lot of functionality for the money. Frankly, I don't care about an IP certification or wireless charging but, there is one thing that this phone is missing that I can't do without. In 2023 a mid-range smartphone that costs more than $400 should really feature dual stereo speakers. It's a shame that they chose to cut that particular corner. Anyway, try not to dishonor this phone with a movie theater chair this time.🤣
Yeah, to be honest the one speaker of today is so much better than it was 5 years ago. I thought it was a deal breaker but after hearing some modern one speaker devices I really couldn't tell much of a difference.
@@wiredspeaker5658 It's definitely a good speaker for only one. Plus I think they did this because so many people use earbuds now days, so it might not be much of an issue for many
The only thing it lacks to be my instant pick is long term support. I plan to keep my next phone for 4 to 5 years and don't know how important updates really are :/
I've been using a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro for almost 4 years now and it hasn't receive any update around 2 year mark. It doesn't affect the phone as I can still use apps like local bank apps, maps, YT, games, soc med. I don't download files on my phone that can have virus nor questionable apps so maybe that's a factor to for longevity even if it hasn't receive any security or android updates in the last two years.
