Not a bad impression, if you are not sure about anything or you don't know a particular thing, try to say calmly and add one thing at the end that I'll go through it but right now not much sure
Bhawna, the maximum times they ask about the subjects or topics where you feel comfortable. The same thing happened to me in almost all interviews at different IITs. But in a few cases like my MS-VLSI interview at IIT Kanpur, they started with a deep discussion on Electronics Devices subject only.
