Wonderful actress. May she rest in peace. Grew up watching her and all these years later will never forget her.

Amen...You don't allow it to change you. Many young black people need to understand this so we don't lose dignity and respect. God blessed us with some beautiful elders and we forget basic principle and their wisdom. Her tone alone...no anger❤️

I miss older actors understanding and being around to be able to know exactly what the people they had to portray went thru obstacles

Esther was incredibly good in Rosewood - her part of that film is so hard to watch and heartbreaking. Lovely interview.

I have never seen Esther Rolle give a poor performance. She was ethereal.

The great ESTHER ROLLE, I always imagined her starring in Tennessee William's "The Rose Tattoo" on Broadway. But, that was a fantasy.

I was glad to see her get the part in Rosewood. It was positive and perfect for her. For awhile, she was getting a stream of $h!t projects, such as psychic commercials. Hollywood does not look after people that well. However, I feel that Rosewood was the positivity that she needed to complete her acting career. RIP

A true genius of the theater. Love Miss Rolle. But how often society forgets that the Mexican American's had just as bad and sometimes even worse; when the prejudice comes at you from all "other colors".
